... which would require PC games to support an API for a single headset that most people don’t have and wouldn’t actually be popular as a result. Making it for their highly successful can’t-keep-it-on-shelves console seems like a perfectly valid decision actually.

Yes, properly crediting. For the things they make. Did this guy have anything to do with making the show?

Wait wait, you just casually accused Rowling of “waging a crusade against trans women” by quoting an incident where her life was threatened? I’m not saying she hasn’t said some stuff but *that* incident is about her life being threatened. Maybe, just maybe temper your enthusiasm and show some respect for peoples’ lives

“Don’t buy her stuff because she has an opinion that’s harmful, unlike everyone else in the world” (sorry, added sarcasm is mine).

Sounds reductionist to me. Can’t you enjoy Harry Potter books and then donate $100 to a pro-trans cause to offset your hate emissions or something? <sarcasm>

Yeah except, it really is true. Giving a millionaire an extra million doesn’t change their lives. Heck, some people can /lose 200 billion/ and keep going like its normal. There’s a point at which rich is just rich. I dare say nobody who made Rowling as rich as she is did it in support of transphobia. Equating the two

Sounds like libel to me. Got evidence of her celebrating attacks on trans people? Last I checked, even people who disagree with her admit she’s respectful about her issues, not violent:

People with limited ability to see past their own viewpoints are a problem, whether they’re the transphobic kind of limited or the “you must support them because you like their game” kind. There’s more than one reason to buy a video game.

If online game hosts stopped including “everything you create belongs to us” in their terms of service, I might care. But as it stands, I could end up “owning” a thing in a game that they shut down and I can never access again. Nope.

Agreed; I’ve never understood the push to multiplayer every game. Lots of games are just fine as single player experiences, and lots of single player games would be even better if their devs hadn’t spent so much time hacking in a multiplayer experience that didn’t need to happen.

This is literally why we need a programmers guild; prevent this kind of cut-rate ‘free’ labour from stealing work from those who value their time and livelihoods.

There’s this interesting take on that: https://www.theatlantic.com/culture/archive/2010/09/why-do-the-japanese-draw-themselves-as-white/340084/

omg, someone’s using sex to sell rap? that’s novel.

Looks like a standard correction post. Perfectly valid. Probably more worthwhile than you complaining about it ironically.

I really don’t understand why people all think they’re experts in the psychology of random people.

This is in fact true!  Some very ignorant people out there blaming the woke for their own bad business practices.

Aww you’re illiterate. Let me help, look up these words: Violates Terms of Service.

Hey you’re free to share your edgy political views with anyone you like, and they’re free to judge you for them.  You’re also free to keep them to yourself.

Most of these people seem to have believed a lot of these things already. They already believed in secret societies running the world or grand conspiracies; they just didn’t get any respect for it. Once a president of the USA was willing to tell them they were right, they simply spoke out loud about their previously
