People should be upset at poorly written characters, not whether their gender or race is the one they prefer. I still have a hard time believing that someone can be so sexist or racist as to dislike a good video game because it has a woman or a non-white character in it.

Why not? What if it was a guy should be asked about female roles too. What if it were a child or an elderly person. What if they were Mexican instead of white? What if they were poor instead of rich? Heck, maybe a white rich guy just fits. If you can’t think outside the white male box, you’re the problem.

If an indie game costs more than $10 I check to see how replayable or entertaining it is for sure. I can’t bring myself to pay something like $20 to someone I don’t know or trust until I’ve seen a lot of reviews.
