+1. To me, cloud music in 2010 and beyond is about one hosted copy played across every account (i.e., subscription-based, like Spotify/Rhapsody). The Google and Amazon solutions feel sooooo 2008 (e.g., Lala) and I suspect are intermediate steps until they get their house cleaned and offer a Spotify competitor of

Anyone who's not yet Jailbroken? You might want to wait until 4.3 is released next week. Moderators at Sinfuliphone suggest that 4.3 jailbreak will be the most stable jailbreak (hackers have been patiently waiting on releasing the jailbreak until 4.3 is public).

With Airlines, it provides an "agony" rating, which takes into account factors such as total flight time and stopovers. Pretty great, a first-stop flight search tool for me. Hotel search, it seems to provide a value rating telling you — but I'm just reading the post.

Practical: Swiss Army knife

Good one, @TheSmartAssGuy. Was thinking the same..."Don't tell me I click this and it's just SBSettings...d'oh!"

You just installed a Wifi router at your dad's (for selfish reasons). He was excited to have it until he read this NYT article: [www.nytimes.com]

Mac OS keyboard gripes:

Ditto! I told myself to give it a week before I gripe, but this makeover is driving me NUTS. Wouldn't be surprised if it's some HTML5, compatible with mobile, iOS, etc...but me no likey (perhaps LH gave us reason for the redesign, but I missed it...probably because I couldn't find it).

VOTE: Cobranded AMEX, depending upon your purchasing habits

I built an HTPC. Went with Win7 because it gives you the best DVR experience — I like the idea of xbmc but no native DVR was a deal-killer.

I want a Shazam/Soundhound on my Mac. Any tips?

@virgilstar: Latest rumors suggest early Feb for iPad 2 announce date (even 2/1)...so hold off a few days then make your decision with complete info.

Audio streaming I get. But why would anyone stream video on the iPhone? AirVideo/Plex/Netflix...I would rather watch these on the device from which I'm streaming than my iPhone.

@headclone: gDelete sounds fantastic. Wish I could track it down! Any other hints / direction?

Try CineXplayer instead of VLC. Smoothest Divx player I've found. Plus, latest version supports TV out.

@piezeppelin: Spot on. I'll add to the list, and give you specific cultural ground beef dishes that are served rare. French: steak tartare, Ethiopians: kitfo. Note that ideally, both of these dishes come from a freshly ground steak.

A few points:

@tablespork: Simple recommendation: don't bother if you never fly. Typically, miles/points expire after one year. And, although your cumulative miles do get tracked, they're not gonna matter if you take one flight every few years.

I have ESPN3, but US Open site is commercial-free and UI better with easy ability to switch between matches so I go that route. Quality very good on both (but not HD). This is what the HTPC is all about!
