Lovecraft Country is definitely on my to-read list, but were you / should I be bothered at all that a book about such a specific African-American experience was written by a white guy?

I know a lot of people who pretty much only read non-fiction, because "the world is so interesting already" or some such. But with rare exceptions it always feels like homework to me.

Yeah, it definitely worked for me and I thought it pretty well encapsulated the points the book was making.
