It’s kind of bothersome that they’re putting mutual oral sex in the same camp as white supremacist sloganeering.
What’s next a dramatic Cheers about a guy who blew his chance to be a pro athlete and is now stuck trying to make ends meet as a bartender to a bunch of alcoholics?
If you dropped it probably not. They’ve kind of been dragging out this Gargoyle King and other plotlines as long as they can.
I always assumed it was upstate New York. Veronica moves there from New York City, Archie is able to road trip to the Midwest, they’re close to Canada, and the economy seems to be centered around prisons.
Right. A blowout is fun to watch once or twice. But when it happens every day then it gets boring. I even tired of it with Ken Jennings and he had a much better personality than this guy
I don’t think he’s actually significantly more knowledgeable than most players, which is ultimately what makes him rather boring to watch. His advantage isn’t a massively broader breadth of knowledge it’s that he’s super fast on the buzzer. If I wanted to watch a button mashing contest I’d do that.
I also find his demeanor odious. It’s probably not fair since he may be a great guy in reality, but he just comes off as a sleazebag.
I’ve noticed that it’s not uncommon for champions to not do great in regular jeopardy. I think that happened several times with that bartender who popularized mugging for the camera. There were several times when he was behind or only marginally ahead after the first round and then came back strong later on.
Ken Jennings said that buzzer speed is what really separates champions from ordinary players. According to him most of the time each player knows the answer and so the guy who buzzes in first wins.
What scruples? Every actor has been in more than their fare share of turkeys. As Bruce Campbell said “This may surprise people but sometimes actors take jobs for reasons other than artistic fulfillment”
I think it’s because a lot of these movies are objectively bad. I remember someone once saying that the problem with Christian rock is that it wants to tell a message first and actually, you know, be good music second (or maybe even third or fourth). A lot of these films don’t have the will or ability to be good…
Then there’d be no conflict at all.
No, I wouldn’t say so. Washington inherited an estate and several slaves from his father. Mount Vernon itself was inherited from his brother Lawrence (who had named it after his commanding officer in the Royal Navy). Then he married Martha Dandridge, who was the wealthiest woman in British America at the time. The…
Almost all of the mysteries are explained in Lost. It’s just that sometimes the explanations aren’t very satisfying.
One of the things which made the religious aspect interesting, at least to me, in the early seasons was how undetermined it was. You weren’t sure if there was divine intervention or not. Like in 33 when the ship carrying the guy who is going to rat out Baltar gets blown up. Is that God protecting him? Or just a…
It was explicitly detailed. And still you’ve got dumb asses who don’t understand what was going on.
If you still don’t know what was up with the polar bear then you’re too fucking stupid to be watching Lost.
Yes, but it’s a parenthetical a couple of sentences later. And in the context of the article which is about Snyder’s different (and largely bad) creative vision for the DCEU, it kind of buries the point. You could have been a bit more clear. I don’t know why that bothered me a bit since I like Snyder’s oevre even…
Snyder “abruptly left” Justice League because his teenage daughter committed suicide. Your opening line makes it sound like he had creative differences with the studio or something.
