I’d rather watch the speeches for some of these “lesser” awards where the recipients aren’t famous and so don’t have a platform to speak out all the time. They’ve often got more interesting stuff to say.

The Times has at least some of the text messages between them and it sounds like he had more than an “inkling”.  He seemed to frequently ask her for assurances that she was of age and at one point said “If people saw what we were doing they’d think I’m R Kelly”

From some of the things she’s said it sounds like she’s not interested in singing anymore and just wants to act.  She sometimes sounds ashamed 0r apologetic over her music career.

You’re right, but it doesn’t have to reinvent the wheel to be worthwhile. Having a new documentary out for a new audience who may not be familiar with it is worthwhile. Especially now that Trump might be facing similar situations.

You might want to check out the podcast “In the Dark”.  The first season is about the kidnapping and murder of Jacob Wetterling in the 1980s and includes cooperation from his family as well as another person who was probably a victim of the same guy.

The first season of Serial is unusual for a true crime story in that it’s not trying to either explain how someone committed a heinous crime or exonerate the wrongly accused.  The first season is much more about the limits of knowledge.  What makes it so compelling, and why we’re still talking about it years later, is…

I feel the same sort of as Sarah Koenig did at the end of the podcast. Knowing what we know now, I don’t think I could convict Adnan because all we have is Jay’s version of what happened. All the other evidence is shaky, overhyped, or easily explained innocently.
