Perhaps. However, farmers don’t just own the land. They own the technology that makes the land productive. Large farms are big business; highly technological and very capital intensive. Taking the land will be a disaster. There has to be a better way.

So once they’ve got the land, what do they do with it. Are they going to break it up and give it to anyone who wants it? Farming is a capital intensive business, and many farms require loans to go from harvest to harvest. Financial institutions are not going to lend to inexperienced farmers. I foresee farm failure…

I stopped watching this a while ago. I liked the rawness of the original, but it’s become too polished, too upmarket. It’s lost it’s realness edge, especially in 4k. Gone is the dingyness, the ugh new yawkness of the the rooms, the tired and worn furniture. It’s just not the same and so bam...out go the lights.

This plan wouldn’t work for the 99% of most run-of-the-mill restaurants.

Exactly. Besides...it’s a nice personal touch from the place. They can give advice on parking, or things like how much time to leave for a drink at the bar before the reservation.

A restaurant that relies heavily on reservations as compared to walk-in customers to drive it’s revenue would tank if there were a world where there was some sort of financial obligation associated with a reservation.
