It should have been Astrid who died.

I agree with your review, except for the part where you suggest Dichen Lachman has any sort of acting talent whatsoever.

Human Target's female characters suffered because they were female characters and not characters who were female, whereas the male characters were not nearly as defined by their gender.

Even more so, using twenty surface combatants is blatant overkill, considering that you can load a Tarawa or two with ASW helos, sprinkle a couple hunter killers, and maybe a few frigates, while pulling your destroyers and cruisers out for CHICOM killing.

Said commitment to realism is… lacking everywhere else, however.  From Grace's nonregulation ponytail, to a SSBN actually going into littoral waters for spec-ops extraction, to retargeting a Trident II on Washington D.C. and actually firing a Trident II that reaches D.C. when the launch platform is in the Pacific

Nope.  I like Emma and Snow.  I would like Hua Mulan if not for the actress sucking and could happily have less of Aurora.  As amazing as it might sound, people can actually hold differing opinions from how you might feel.

See, I don't like Mulan either.  She's introverted sure, but that's not exactly new (Emma, too, is introverted, and I love her because Jmo doesn't actually suck).  Love the armor, and how it's (fairly) practical, if a bit ornamental.  But Jamie Chung utterly fails at portraying Mulan on every level.  She can't do the

The sad part is, all she has his "Wants to fuck Mike" and "Is politician's wife".  In terms of being a plebe suddenly thrust into the high velocity lifestyle of D.C. aristocracy, Dana's storyline renders Jessica completely redundant.

Never understood how Belle could be considered a decent character.  She's blander than bland, and a love martyr to boot.  Rumple and Regina are out and out villains and will never be more than allies of convenience, and I'm only putting up with their centric episodes because I'm waiting for them to eventually die
