These aren’t great cars, but the primary criticism for these Monteros is that they don’t carry seven even though there’s enough room for another row of seats. At $3500, you get a family hauler that can also haul things, 6 cylinder torque, 4WD and cold AC? That’s a NP, and worth the weekend to give it another 60,000…

I have to agree. This was a vehicle that had no real reason to exist outside of the Indian market it was designed for (and failed there, too, by the way) but since there is no other smaller vehicle Ford offers the USA, it sells by default.
