I don’t think new cars are as big as you think they are:

That doesn’t work with BLE keys. They are a bi-directional query, using a shared secret that changes over time, like all those 2 step verification codes. Anything you record expires after a few minutes. It needs to be near real time.

Why would you do this to a perfectly lovely car?

For a usable project, it’s not half bad. The doors are crime against classic car, but mendable. And if it’s pretty much othervise stock and rust free, I would say it’s a steal.
