Any cheap-ass used shitbox that David Tracy buys and asks you to pick up for him. Just Ask Torch.

Nah, Manwich is right. Put regular doors on it and remove the badging, and no one, NO one, would associate these renderings with the OG DMC.

Best Jalop, go Commando!

Doesn’t Lawrence live in San Diego or somewhere in So-Cal?

Oh, and just in case you disagree...

I’m not going to agree that footprint needs to be bigger. It wasn’t meant to compete with F-150's on the highway.

What makes you think he is modeled after Guy Fieri?

Pretty sure steel springs can be made in shapes other than coils, e.g., leaf springs. Modern metal bending tech can form steel into a wide variety of shapes. I believe coil springs are the preferred shape due to the predictability and easiness in which variable rate springs can be made using the coil shape. Not sure

Nothing beats a Delahaye 135 on the French Riviera...

Well crapola! I didn’t even think to look at the age of the ad, but you are right. I guess $10,000 would be an acceptable price if the seller would be more forthcoming with details.

Now playing

Cosworth would like to have a word with you.

There are better deals to be had. Here is one in San Diego with the same mileage and specs for a couple of grand less.

Not quite. The Tornado has no moving parts. It is supposed to fit snugly in the intake and, in theory, cause the incoming air to circulate, causing a vortex down into the intake. The swirling air is claimed to mix more thoroughly with gas (this came out in the pre-direct-injection days) resulting in stronger, more

Nah, the 2.3 L Lima is actually a solid base for a 4-cyl engine build. Cosworth has worked magic on it many times in the past. Here is a fairly in-depth build from Motortrend.

Easy, Pamplona, Spain. “The Running of the Red Bulls”!

Unfortunately, from what I saw, it looks like the manuals tend to go for $10,000+ more than a similar condition auto.

For this price you can get a Cadillac CTS-V wagon in the same condition that is at least 4 years newer, has 50 more HP, and you can keep running indefinitely for a small fraction of the price of the Benz. Maybe not quite as rare, but CTS-V wagons are still not something you see every day.

Real spring-mounted bumpers that can hit something at 5 mph with zero (zip, nil, nada) damage to the car.

To the best of my knowledge, all passive wireless devices are susceptible to these range extending attacks. This article from the UK has a decent explainer. It also mentions the UWB tech that Jose mentions, although I’d be more inclined to call UWB a short-term fix. Once more cars start using it, cheap transceivers

The guy in the video calls it a relay. I’m assuming that the reason he needs the laptop connected to the relay board is to use wifi/LTE to talk to another laptop connected to another relay that is in range of the phone. Then the two relays simply echo BLE messages between the car and phone, tricking the car into
