A lot of commenters here seem to misunderstand what a halo car is about. A halo isn’t about building a high volume profitable car, it is about showcasing your engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Think Lexus LFA, Ford GT, and (OG) Acura NSX. None of these cars were great money makers in comparison to the bread

Jensen Interceptors. Replacing those backlights after a shootout with international assassins is freaking expensive!!!

Can’t wait for the real-life Fancy Jason articles after you become a big toy magnate!

What is the Washington state law regarding holding a personal, for profit raffle? Because this would be the way to sell this thing. It is interesting enough that you would likely get quite a few people willing to toss in $10-$20 for a ticket. Then you just need to sell 1000 tickets. If the truck folds in half after

Resto-mod + chrome wrap equals my old Hot Wheels!

Bender!

Dammit, now I want to see a Shaq/Issac Hayes showdown.

Just curious. Did you fail math in high school or did you live in some sort of MC Escher world where you drove downhill all the time? Because 18 mpg from a 3700 lb. 60's 383 big block seems nigh impossible. I had a late 70's Mercury Monarch with a 351 that weighted 3100 lbs. that I couldn’t get past 12 mpg.

Exactly. I instantly got Triumph TR8 and TVR Tasmin vibes from this thing.

To anyone who doesn’t like Porsche’s Pasha upholstery...

To anyone who doesn’t like the original 928 headlights...

Pshaw!! Everyone knows the real way to tell plebs that you are posing as a 1%’er is with an AMC Hornet Gucci!

Guess it wasn’t really worth pointing out after all.

I would imagine AWD would make driving a 500+ HP car in the rain much more manageable. I would think it would be a popular combo in warm coastal locations.

It’s an EV. If it is freezing outside, the batteries generally don’t need cooling. In fact they need to heat up for better performance/range. The shutters can stay shut.

If you want people to have feelings about your car, then it is hard to beat a Nissan Murano Crosscabriolet! Here is a 2011 for a shade under $17,000. I have never heard of anyone having an indifferent opinion on these things. Plus, it’s a convertible. Gotta have a ragtop in LA, right? I mean, doesn’t California offer

If not, then a Chrysler Crossfire would be an excellent plan B. Here’s one with a shade under 40k miles for just under $10k.

You, like me, misread that first sentence as “It’s a good car, just not an affordable one.” Swapping “just” and “not” changes the meaning to “It’s not only an affordable car, but a good car as well.
