Yes Literally.. The Maldives have no natural fresh water collection sources.. (Rivers, Lakes, etc). All that precipitation you mentioned ends up in the ocean. So unless humans create systems to collect it on the individual islands they have no fresh drinking water.

The irony is... I stayed 5 nights in the Maldives (not at this hotel). We used credit card miles for the stay.. and EVERY SINGLE PERSON we met was also staying on credit card miles. I came to the conclusion that these resorts don’t actually have any real customers.

Seriously this. The islands literally have no fresh water, so every drop of water they drink costs the hotel money.

Yes this. The Maldives is crazy expensive. When we were there a bottle of water was $8 and sunblock was $45. And the islands don’t have any fresh water so you can’t just opt to drink tap water, unless you like salt. These are tiny islands with no fresh water, and most hotels only have 50 or so rooms.

All 3 of these things you mentioned use the tech you just suggested banning.

This type of tech is a huge stress relief for my daily commute. Specifically in stop & go traffic where the speed never goes above 20mph. It’s 100% the reason I got the car I did. I’d be more inclined to suggest banning it over 30mph until they’re able to get it right. The slower it goes, the more reaction time you

I never said rich people can’t get into heaven. I said it’s hard, which I backed up with scripture. The entire context of this article and this thread is about a rich person not caring about other people.

“Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”Matthew 19:24

Yeah I’d totally do something like that now.. But at the time I was a sophomore in college and just renting an apartment for the summer... So didn’t have much in the way of financial resources.

I mean the bible specifically says that it’s pretty hard for rich people to get into heaven. So I guess if you’re religious you can count on that.. Personally I’m not, so shrug I guess.

I once sublet an apartment for 3 months. When I got the tour and met the roommates the place was fully furnished.. I’d assumed that it’d be that way when I moved in a month later, but nope.. Apparently all the furniture and dishes, etc belonged to the guy I was subletting from. I was pretty bummed out, but it was my

Same here. Live in Oak Cliff, work in Mesquite.. It’s a 19 mile drive, and takes me 25 minutes.. Public transportation is 2h 38m (one way) and requires taking DART and STAR Transit since Mesquite isn’t on the DART network. Even worse, my husband works at UTA and he has absolutely no public transportation option for

In a metroplex of 6.8 million people.. 65.2 million passenger trips isn’t that many, but the spirit of truthfulness, I’ll rephrase my statement.... Our public transit is garbage and nobody with a choice takes it.... I mean look I’m a HUGE advocate of public transportation, but the DART system doesn’t actually fill the

yeah, but already priced $39.. The $4 off isn’t much..

That Promo-Code doesn’t work on the linked camera.

That Promo-Code doesn’t work on the linked camera.

Well..Dallas is on this list, and I live in Dallas and can confirm.. Our public Transit is garbage and nobody takes it. Example.. For me to take my car to work everyday is a 25minute drive.. or 2.5 hours (one way) via public transit.

That cat dancer has been my most successful cat toy purchase ever. She drags it everywhere around the house in hopes I’ll help her play with it. It is not uncommon for me to wake-up in the middle of the night with it on my face. I go through spells of hiding it from her for weeks/months at a time.

Honestly I just want a 1999 Isuzu VehiCROSS. It’s all I ever wanted in the 90s, because rumor had it the Rav4 was for gays and got sucked under semi’s on the highway.

Same, and to be honest removing myself from Facebook has been the greatest things I’ve ever done. Best 7 months I’ve had since 2008 or whatever.
