I regret not giving myself a pass to make poor decisions in my undergrad, even small ones like making out with someone who was quite literally draped over me and... eager. What's that they say about it being better to regret what you did do than what you didn't do? Yeah. That.

Boyfriend jeans, only. Preferably stolen from your actual boyfriend, so as to avoid any possible suggestion of fashion or femininity. Saggy butts only.

My mother found out that I didn't know how to blow my nose some 6 months before I left for college. She was dumb-struck. I'm still reluctant, because it's always so gross and doesn't feel like it's doing anything. But it does. It really does.

I didn't live in the dorms in freshman year (I moved in halfway through sophomore year and couldn't have been happier, but I'm a dorm-fan and always have been). No, I lived in a place nominally referred to as a "house" that was really more aptly deemed a "garbage heap." My rent was $162.50 a month. You get what you

-That- is how you do a sexy Halloween costume.

I demystified sex by stumbling upon the sex-ed section of the public library. It wasn't difficult. I'd devour books on "how to talk to your teen about sex" and then bug my mother for clarification. By that age, she'd said, "I'll tell you when you're older," so many times that it was a running joke. But she always did

Pushy is exactly the reason why I avoided LUSH for years. Years. But when you have a specific problem, my friend discovered and reported, the staff is very helpful, and so I've given them a second chance. (I love the blue solid shampoo. Seanik, I think.)

How is a 'klub' different from a 'club'? Is the KKK a 'klub'?

I've heard of 'madelle' being used in the French immersion program near my school growing up, too. I thought it was standard until I got older; now I'm not so sure.

Futurama stamps? Oh my goodness, yes!

I always used USPS when I was in the States. I rarely needed speed, so I'd compare the cheapest service for my needs, and the USPS usually won out.

I'd be curious to read those articles. I wonder where they got the notion that it was racially motivated. It's true that all three of those who died from their injuries were people of colour, but not all of those shot were.

Amy Bishop shot six faculty at "the University of Alabama in Huntsville," no hyphen. (And despite what Reuters says, it's not "at" Huntsville, either.)

My mother confused so many people when she came to Alabama to visit, from Canada, and kept asking for vinegar for her fries. The best she got was malt vinegar, and she made a >:( face.

"Things that taste like ketchup should not taste this good." - American roommate, first year of university. I'd toted some Canadian goodies to school with me after the holiday.

That is amazing XD I approve.

So thorough! Thank you :D

Lentils were a staple in my home growing up. (My mother is a hippie, but I never assumed that to be the reason. Rather, lentils are cheap!) But I can't make them taste good, or fully cooked. It's terrible. I'm useless.

I got a picture of my brother and me for a family thing. There's a nice one of us smiling (it's perfectly lovely, if a bit dull), and then one of us roughhousing and my flailing for freedom. It's way more awesome.

I have a friend with an unshakable fake accent. But instead of 'tough', he wanted to sound 'intelligent', as he knew his Southern accent could have him pegged as otherwise. So he worked very hard to culture his accent into something that is difficult to pin down (but still a bit Southern).
