I get where you’re coming from. I don’t think it’s just a startup problem though. A lot of legacy companies are falling into the same trap.

If you’re talking about the 70s and Baby Blue you need a picture of a Ford product. Ford was the king of this color. Everything Ford/Lincoln/Mercury from the Pinto to the F-350 had this color on tap from the late 60s to the early 80s.

It’s not just limited to automakers. It’s a serious fault of the modern corporation. People are expendable resources in the eyes of the shareholders.

I’m not sure about other areas but.. In Chicago, damage caused to a person’s vehicle by a pothole rests partially on the driver of the vehicle. The City/County may reimburse a driver partially but they maintain that avoiding road defects is the responsibility of the driver.

Satire or stupidity? It’s getting so hard to tell the difference.

I almost like the Mustang II. The front overhang is a bit of a turnoff but.. I wouldn’t kick a 74 MACh1 out of my driveway for eating crackers in bed. That Cologne V6 has potential. Slap a modern 4.0/5 speed in there and you have a killer little autox machine.

I’m picky with my Birds.

Damn! You know your fugly!

The MN12 Thunderbird. Specifically the Super Coupe. Head gasket issues and the truck transmission (5 speed) aside it was a great highway cruiser and an amazing donut machine. It’s a shame that Ford brass hated it. (Therewere even plans to build an AWD version being developed in part with Porsche and later Eaton.)

I am 100% with you here. The last year before the ugliest refresh in history too.

I had to revisit this because I saw a 1g Avalanche leaving our lot a little while ago (and I’m so bored at work right now..). They changed the front end when they started sharing it with the Silvy. The original Avalanche face was pretty aggressive. And actually attractive. When they dumped the plastic and shared with

Daahamn!

It’s not the Jeepers, David. It’s you. More specifically your XJs. Crusty, beat to hell XJs have a reputation. They’re typically driven by wannabe wheelers that eventually wind up doing something stupid and making the entire community look bad.

I think we’ve discussed this before. I still don’t understand what the deal was there. The GMC trucks all looked fine, the Tahoe and Suburban were spared, but the Silverado got the worst nose job ever.

For some reason that rot highlights how hideous the front of those trucks really was.

Don’t get him going.. He’s here from downtown. Mitch and Murray sent him. He made $970,000 selling Chevys last year.

Then I’m curious.

Competitive compared to what?
