I re-read the Little House books within the last 10 years (so, in my mid-30's) and they were actually way more interesting to me as an adult, even though I did like them when I was a child. I know it sounds weird but I felt much more like I got to know Laura upon re-reading the series.

Yes! Thank you for the Susan Cooper love, I loved The Grey King and I even still remember word for word some of the poem that preceded the story, and I read that book 36 years ago. I also did a book report in The Dark Is Rising, also in 5th grade, I wish I still had it, the artwork I did was so inspired.

I remember loving that book when I read it but I have no memory of what it was about or any of the details, other than something about dolphins. I do love the title, it just has so much poetry and evokes a beautiful feeling.

And A Swiftly Tilting Planet. You can probably skip Many Waters, in my opinion...

My reaction to this: GASP!!! Oh my God!!! YAY!!! Oh please be good.

I was so excited about the TV movie that came out a few years ago and was so disappointed about it. This book meant so much to me growing up in the late ‘70's and early ‘80's, it was one of the first books my mother ever gave me and one of the first

I’ve noticed that now that I am officially in my late 40's and don’t get harassed I have all the snark at my disposal, more of a propensity to call someone out on that kind of bullshit, where as when I was in my teens and 20's (and couldn’t walk down my suburban neighborhood street without getting groped WHEN I WAS

That’s a rabbit hole I wish I hadn’t gone down...

Me too! I actually have a hard time falling asleep without a pillow over my head, and if I do fall asleep without it at some point during the night it ends up over my head. It blocks out any light that might sneak through the blinds and the sound of birds chirping at freaking 5 AM.

Pure Luck was great but the original La Chevre was so funny I nearly asphyxiated while seeing it in the theater.

“Botox feels cheap compared to info like, where he’s hiding the original Nicole Kidman”

I adore you for this, I don’t know why but it is so good.

I can’t handle how cute those two photos are! This makes me love both of them more.

Oh man! I had a bunch of these in sizes from about an inch to the size of a grapefruit and all clipped together they were over a foot worth! I had racoons and pegasus’ also! Started collecting them in 78' or 79' and I wish I still had them.

Yes, this is what I have read also, the outcome of the “ritual” is the make a young girl more chaste, take away her potential enjoyment of sex so that she won’t sleep around and therefore will be pure for her husband and the added benefit is that she won’t go outside of the marriage.

Amen. Seriously, nobody knows what whatever deity is out there wants us to do and how to act and anyone who says differently is sadly mistaken and the best we can do is to treat others the way we would want to be treated.

I’ve never seen this before. It was both funny AND informative! Thank you.

I adore your comment, it has all kinds of awesomeness!

Came to ask this exact question. How is this legal?

I live in suburban MD, during the December 2009 Snowpocalypse, our street was NEVER plowed. 17 inches and it just eventually melted/was driven over/wore away. The streets were literally a slalom course. We still had rutted snow in the street when Snowmageddon wreaked havoc in 2010.

It helps that he’s Tim Curry...

A blue coupe! I read a bunch of the “yellow” books in the late ‘70's and early ‘80's and then, luckily, my stepmother’s best friend ran a charity thrift store and she would always give me ‘30's and ‘40's versions of ND mysteries, which were waaaaaay more satisfying than the newer versions (and also Judy Bolton
