Swear to God that I had no idea that the VMAs had happened. Not that I would have watched but I saw nothing on social media or any advertisements. I kinda pay attention because I like to tell how old I am by how many of the performers I can recognize. 

The newest form of book burning seems to be going well.

This may be the film that gets me back to a theater for the first time since pre-pandemic.

Tenet was a rare letdown for me when it comes to Nolan’s films (Interstellar was another). I’m super excited to see this one and hope it ends up on the same level as Inception and Dunkirk.

Really, though, what’s any of this going to do? The Supreme Court’s going to overturn RvW, women across the country aren’t going to get access to the care they want and/or need, and the five Justices along with the entire Republican party and a couple of Dems don’t give a shit about how many people are in the streets…

I would love, just once, when these abjectly stupid arguments are presented, for a journalist or judge or whoever to just take a moment of silence, take a deep breath, and ask the person, “Do you think I’m stupid?”

Along the same line, we would need to believe that Maverick is still an active duty pilot at age 60. Tom Cruise was exactly the right age for the role of a junior pilot in 1985. He’s too old to be even a senior military pilot now, although I’m sure he can play the role effectively in a movie.

Why not cast them both? Jon H. and H. Jon is the action-comedy duo we all deserve.

It was nice to have a show that was simply FUN and light. In an era where traditional scripted TV, and esp. superhero shows, are trying to hang on by going darker and grimmer, LoT S2 onward was just a refreshing tonic of a good time.
