It swung heavily back against Depp for good reason, because the judge upheld the ruling that Depp can indeed be called a wife beater. That seems to have been a huge reason for the studio to rightfully ditch Depp.

I worked on Dead Man, which Johnny Depp starred in. I was a lowly PA, and he held the door open for me when my hands were full. I was so star-struck! When my kids came to visit me he danced with my two year-old and played drums with him. I spoke on the phone with Kate Moss when she called to talk to him.
They’re also.... not that great of movies. They’re decent entertainment if you’re on an airplane and forgot to bring a book, but I certainly wouldn’t spend money on them even if JKR and Depp weren’t trash.
They’ll probably cast Jared Leto to replace Depp because everything is awful and no one learns anything.
Oh, I enjoyed the first Fantastic Beasts movie a lot. Charming, visually inventive, likable performances from the supporting cast, a memorable villain turn from Farrell. COG was a sprawling fucking mess, unfortunately, and weirdly sidelined Newt (in hindsight, I really appreciate the shades of rage and self doubt that…
Don’t disagree, though I’ll stump for Azkaban as the best Potter-movie. FB had some warts (I really loathe the “magic rain erases the memory of ALL OF NEW YORK” ending). But I enjoyed a lot of it, and I really enjoyed Jacob and the sisters and some of the other casting. I didn’t mind Redmayne either. But... I have…
Yeah, the first movie had some definite positives. I really liked Jacob and Queenie. The magical animals were interesting. And then the second movie just quashed all of that (seriously...in what world does it make sense that Queenie becomes a wizard Nazi?!?!?!). It was honestly so bad that it made me wonder how she…
Farrell is a way better choice than Depp in any given situation. Doubt even he’s enough to save how bad these movies are though. Plus, there’s still the shittiness of Rowling herself to contend with.
Good riddance to a serial abuser.
I hope he changes back into Colin Farrell. He was easily the best thing about the first film (though Jacob and the sisters were good too) and I can’t imagine anyone being excited when the twist revealed him to really be - and downgraded him to - just another quirky Johnny Depp character.
I mean this completely seriously, but how did you manage to stay with him after he voted for Trump? I can barely stand to be in the same room with a Trump supporter. I can’t imagine living with one or being intimate with one.
Wish you the best getting through what I’m sure is going to be a nationwide headache that likely last at least a month. Just know that you’re welcome here, for whatever an online community can do to make you feel less isolated.
Comment of the day right here.
Send to my best friend as the quote of the day. Thank you.
This is an insane, cruel, moronic comment (i.e. exactly what I would expect from a Trump supporter). A quarter of a million people have died from the pandemic—that is a quarter of a million sets of families and friends permanently deprived of a loved one. Millions more people have been infected with a disease that…
Well I lost my grant funding due to his administrations sabotage of the ACA, so had to change jobs and can no longer help people obtain health insurance in rural areas with limited options.
I hear how stressed you are with every post. Is there something difficult - rather than fun - that you can do that will take up your concentration for awhile?
I feel like vomiting also. I posted on another thread that my sister said that “the left-wing media has made a sucker out of you,” even though I am simply reporting facts to her.
I have been reminding myself that the worst-case, nightmare scenarios in any situation almost never come to pass. I am expecting this to turn out to be a Y2K thing in which Biden easily wins 350+ with too many states in his column for Trump to challenge effectively. If you assume the polls are reasonably accurate, or…
I’m so stressed I’m actually using my Hitachi Magic Wand on my shoulders
