Looks like the driver didn’t signal and made a sudden lane change (not safe in any circumstances), but as a rider splitting lanes, you’ve gotta anticipate that.

I think the onus is on riders to split safely. Nobody’s asking you to watch the centerline for splitting bikes.

Even if lane-splitting doesn’t save that many lives, it’s crazy that it’s illegal just because some people aren’t comfortable with it. “In my opinion, it’s only safe when under 20MPH etc. etc.” Hot takes and uninformed input (are you a traffic accident researcher?) shouldn’t determine laws.

I think the straight-bar requirement has to do with riding position. Riders with clip-ons were too tucked down to fully see the corners and were flying off the course.

CP. Supercharged engine is nice, but I’d rather start with sorted manual car and drop in a 4AGZE that deal with this hairball of problems, especially at that price. (you really think that this person’s got EVERYTHING needed for the trans swap?)

I’m curious, when was it that 911s finally started to have interiors worthy of the name (and price)? The older ones weren’t plasticky, but they had controls strewn about seemingly at random. The 3.2s even completed the look with a steering wheel that looked like it came from a bus.

Definitely. My guess is that as people start to actually give a damn about these cars, we’ll start to see some more nice ones on the road.

The E36 M3 of 911s. A transition car that was never as iconic as what came before, and whose successors are arguably better cars.

Hey, if making toys is a more successful and lucrative business for them than making motorcycles, why not? They’ve extracted all the Shareholder Value that they can from the nostalgic motorcycle and apparel market, time to switch it up.

I think hardshell RTTs make more sense for this. My Bundutop takes about 1 minute to set up and tear down, and the bedding and mattress stay in the tent.

There’s a bit of sway, but it’s not bad. Not really much more than if you were actually sleeping in the car itself. Never heard of anyone using jackstands to stabilize their tent corners.

Seller here. Didn’t really spend much in repairs (I do my own work) and selling it cause I got a killer deal on my dream car and I only have so much driveway/garage space, time, and money.

Seller of the car chiming in here (totally crazy to jump on Jalopnik in the morning and see...your car!).

The internet Enthusiast Hype Machine strikes again.

Why are your friends with master’s degrees are entitled to make more than an auto worker? Sounds like their skills aren’t much in demand.

“So, when you start that cold engine, it’s essentially running without lubrication.”

Rode a KLR650 for a few years, then picked up a 90's Ducati SS.

Eh, she might be a little off-base, but I get where she’s coming from. Maybe the movie wasn’t great, but imagine how shitty it is to have the full weight of the Toxic Male Internet come down on you before the film even comes out.

Kind of gross that you can’t even see the damn engine, but the whole “difficult to maintain” aspect isn’t new for this model. 911s stopped being easy to work on the moment Porsche decided to cram a 6-cylinder engine into the back.

I’ve got a feeling that fees like this are going to become more common.
