I think the lime in the Rifftrax at that point is something like: “for this of you who still aren’t getting it, NPH will deliver the rest of his lines in German”

Holmes expresses worries about the safety of a young woman in The Adventure of the Solitary Cyclist, published in 1903. Thus proving he had concerns about the safety of young women in the public domain.

My favourite thing about airplane food is that I buy a bunch of junk food to take on the flight, because I’m definitely not eating the in-flight meal. (the vegetarian options are usually even worse than the regular food). So air travel is the v only n time I let myself eat as much junk food as I want.

I got a glimpse of the home screen of one of the managers at my company, and his email icon said he had over 5,000 unread emails. He could not figure out why the rest of us found this upsetting.

Presumably, this is why Henry Kissinger never started a career as a twitch streamer.

The US Army has also helped fund video games, and, at one point, I believe, had their own online multiplayer shooter (I checked. It’s called America's Army). They see video games as a valuable recruiting tool.

It's a bizarre experience, watching a movie that is clearly depicting its hero as a selfish asshole, without the movie ever realising that's what it's doing. And the songs aren't very good.

Ireland is doing better than the UK, although a current issue is “how do w protect ourselves from the UK and US?” Seriously, my coworkers now talk about Americans like they are creatures of legend or something. “I heard Clifden had to drive a group of Americans out” “I heard a whole bus full of Americans came down

Except its science focused, rather than history focused. Pop culture could use some good, new, non-alien based history shows.

I’ll be honest, I was kind of hoping this was going to be a Connections reboot. I haven’t been this disappointed since I learned that Anvil! : the Story of Anvil was not a documentary about blacksmithing.

The one time I got stung by a jellyfish (I was around 13, I think), my family debated various urban legends like urine and orange juice, and finally decided doing nothing was the easiest course of action. Which at least means I didn't get peed on, but it hurt for a while.

I also own a lot of mythbusters, for me it's up there with mst3k as comfort rewatching. I might spend this weekend watching some favourites while I work on this rug I'm making.

I always thought one of the points of ST was how banal fascism could become. Even ordinary high-school dorks like Rico can be unthinking fascists, if that’s the way society is set up. So, you know, don’t let society get to that point.

The weirdest detail to me on the French murder house is the story of the second son. So, after murdering everyone else, the father calls his oldest biological son and says he has to come home because there's been an accident. And the son is in the house for some hours before he's murdered. How did the guy explain

I mean, how many times can you call the tip line and say “That guy clearly did it, what’s wrong with you?”

It's an interesting idea, although you'd need to account for Ireland, which is much less TERFy than the UK, despite having been, historically, at least as monocultural.

But that's.. I mean, everyone has different experiences of gender and gender identity, based on the culture you grew up in, religion, how your family and peers felt about gender... Trans people's experiences of gender aren't any less important, or legitimate, because they transitioned at some point. I see the point

If I could have anyone, it would be Keith Morrison of Dateline. Perfect voice for telling these kinds of stories.

It also seems to assume that attacking a woman is so difficult, that the best way to achieve it is through a decades long campaign for the acceptance on trans people, and then pretending to be trans, so one can assault women.

I’m kind of surprised you got the meat. My fiance worked in fast food for a while, and he said you’d be surprised how many people order what are basically ketchup sandwiches.
