His consistency in choosing bad movies is pretty impressive. You’d think he’d occasionally wind up in a good movie, if only by accident, but no.

Amazon is considering building housing for employees in Dublin for there new headquarters, because Dublin rents are so ridiculously high.
Even as far back as Total Rickall (the mind parasite episode), it’s Morty who works out a solution, not Rick. Rick gets frustrated and gives up as soon as a solution isn’t easy for him.
Seriously. I get that the show makes Rick look cool and bad as, and that’s what these people are responding to, but I don’t think the show has at any point suggested Rick is happy being Rick. It has in fact several times explicitly said the opposite.
My favourite part of his interview on This American Life on that movie was that Ira Glass was, at one point, moved to call Peter Sagal “honey”. That’s true pity, right there.
Yeah, Kinja’s apparent desire to hide comments from you is it’s most confusing feature. I realise clicking to expand threads/discussions isn’t the most difficult feature ever, but it’s still annoying. Especially on my phone, which will open a new tab for some reason when I click to view the discussion.
Overnight flights can be pretty bad—I can’t really sleep sitting up, but I’m too tired to do anything else—but I can’t imagine the experience would be improved by this.
They all went to Clown College.
We lost a priest who said that divorced and remarried people should be allowed to take communion, and got this guy instead. He was generally annoying. Had a favourite story about a couple who adopted a child with severe disabilities, but because they had faith in God, the child turned out to be a musical savant. So…
So, I went to a Catholic church in a pretty affluent area growing up. I remember our priest talking about that verse, and basically saying that Jesus didn’t really mean it the way it sounds. The fact that this annoyed me at age 9 was probably a sign of where my politics were going.
Look, if Jesus wanted Osteen to be around common people, he wouldn’t have made him fabulously wealthy. By forcing him to help flood victims, you’re basically subverting the will of God.
The last time I regularly saw bad movies at the theatre, it was because I didn’t have air conditioning. In which case, they probably should have released this earlier in the summer, preferable during a heat wave.
When the RSS feed broke, I temporaily forgot that AV Club existed. They could have warned us about that happening. (The RSS feed breaking, not my ability to forget a website I’ve been reading for close to a decade).
Is there even a way to connect our old Disqus accounts yet? The newswire from yesterday just said that a way was coming, I didn’t see any instructions for actually doing it.
Accidents happen every day!
It's an interesting fact, but fortunately, I don't live in Russia. I live in Ireland, where nazi means nazi, so I will continue to use it.
Yeah, some of the black bloc anarchists are annoying to have as part of the left, since they mainly seem to be into breaking windows and punching things. Always reminds me of Reg Shoe in Discworld: "You turn over bins and write graffiti on the wall in the name of The People, who smack you on the ear if they caught you…
I long for the days when we all agreed that nazis were bad. I thought the torture debate was the low point of American discourse, but no, here we are.
Except they never use the shield wall. Because shield wall fights are boring to look at. There's no reason you can't give the guy a spear and a cape and let him get killed if that's what he wants.
My favorite Scalzi is Lock In, which is excellent. So far I haven't really gotten into his other novels, which seem "good, but not for me."
