Honestly, I have thought this about most general motors products. I mean cmon, the C4, C5, and C6 vettes all looked like the designer got to the end, and just sliced off the clay model with a butter knife and wiped his hands clean of the whole ordeal.

I drove the RX8 to my first test drive of an e46 m3, and frankly it was a mistake. The m3 is a fantastic all around car, but there were a lot of positives the RX8 had that made me question the ultimate driving machine, athough I guess not too hard, as I am on my 2nd m3 now.

This. My dad had an rx8, and it actually made me double think the e46 m3 because its gearbox was so good and the M3's was tall and vague in comparison.
every long throw shifter I have used has been vague and rubbery, so i for one welcome our short shift overlords.
