I’m cynically a bit salty that this (largescale, amazing) prison strike is only getting coverage on Jez now that immigrant detainees are involved. I’m horrified by ICE and the ramp up of detentions and deportations, but as someone who works with incarcerated women, it’s been frustrating to see all the sudden concern

Not long after that interview, Dominic West publicly supported Wilson’s comments and said he’d take a pay cut for a woman co-star on an indie project “as long as resources are limited.” West told Variety, “But in a long-running TV show money is not a problem and there’s no excuse for it.” Hmm, okay.

Exactly. Plenty of brands employ a scarcity model. #s or we don’t care.

Michael Jackson was a pedophile. I don’t like pedophiles. Hate me for it. I still like his music. That might clear things up.

Sam Smith is annoying AF and I would be perfectly happy if he never made another song again. But going after someone for saying they dare not like something is absurd. If he said “Michael Jackson had no influence on modern music” then obviously that statement should be torn to shreds.

I wouldn’t deny Jackson’s impact on music and culture. I would however, say, I don’t like a lot of his music. I don’t mind it, enjoyed it well enough at the time, but ... I’m over it.

But he isn’t denying his impact- simply saying he doesn’t care for a lot of his music. You can absolutely think someone is talented and impactful without personally enjoying their art.

Gender /= Sex.

I’m excited for it tbh. I do think with this many differences you might as well just make a different show and not call it Charmed, but I am excited anyway—especially with the showrunner from Jane the Virgin on board.

Alternately, make a new show

If you stay sober, it does actually fade with time.  Personal experience.  The compulsions lessen.  It’s not something you can play with, but it gets easier.

No because having spent a part of their life socialized as female trans men are already used to being denied things.

I don’t know what you expected women throughout history have been treated like shit and denied many things. You came out as a woman and then get offened when other people tell you this is what it’s like to be treated as one. This is how a lot of us women talk to each other, we use sarcasm to keep from crying.

Welcome to being a woman! Insurance doesn’t cover abortion either!

Ooph. ‘Suspect’ cases. That sounds messed up.

In a perfect world, yes, we could do that. But a man and a woman of equal weight and height are not equal in terms of strength, speed, power, endurance, or durability. Our physiological differences go straight down to bone density differences.

I’m pretty sure they do still test every female Olympian but I def could be wrong.

Now playing

Look at the huge differences between the transgender girls and “normal” girls. How can anyone say that testosterone doesn’t make a difference? How is this fair to the other girls who are competing with athletes who have a hormonal/structural advantage?

well i think testing men for testosterone and not testing women for testosterone is discrimination

If you want to have a women’s only category, you need to define who can enter it. How people self-identify isn’t going to cut it - there’s too much many, fame, scholarship opportunity etc. on the line.
