Thank you for this thoughtful reply, and for giving me the benefit of the doubt. These can be tricky conversations to have, so I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, and being gracious in your responses.

I’d give you a full reply, but I’m having to leave to help my parents with their business. Thank you for the thoughtful and very civil reply! ♥

I know I’m going to get roasted for this, but the only way to learn is to ask the question and risk looking like an idiot. And I am genuinely interested in the response, so here goes: why are ‘TERFs’ so horrible?

What’s Jezebel’s Fucking Deal? Harron Walker is now stalking and harassing Jesse Signal and Jezebel keeps running this shit like with reckless disregard for journalism or basic human decency ethics. Just like Gawker. May you have the same fate.

Honestly, can you please for the love of anything explain how anything this guy has written is transphobic or hurts trans people? He is advising caution, using the limited data available and first person accounts, about drugging up of children we do not allow to consent to sex, we do not allow to drive, vote, or

“It’s not like the research on the impacts of puberty blockers are wholly conclusive.”

I was just saying this. It’s insane how often I hear people talking about puberty blockers like they are a neutral option. It’s not even comparable to some of the denial that you used to hear about non-traditional anti-depressants and their side effects. Because this is really old science. We know that you can’t delay

I started doing trans activism in the late 90s when I was still a teenager. I went to one of the only trans friendly colleges in the early 2000s in the country, and continued to do that activism. I agree with almost everything that Jesse says. The trans activist community (not the trans community itself) has become

What on earth was the point of this article? The entire internet is full of people writing articles and a bunch of other people shouting in agreement right below them. It’s happening in this comment section too!

Unpopular opinion coming, but this is not okay.

Sliding Doors.  I may not be a fan of Gwyneth the person, but I love a lot of her movies, and Sliding Doors is excellent!

It’s not 2018 in this film. It takes place in the 1960's. The beginning of the first film took place in the early 50's and then had a 15 year time jump.  As such, having Elastigirl be the “breadwinner” instead of Mr. Incredible is meant to be even more radical.

Wouldn’t that be boxing people in in different ways?

You are one of those people that “circles back” on an email less than an hour after writing the first one?

Your argument that the kids in the Atlantic article “weren’t really trans” is null & void. Because at one point they were 100% certain they WERE trans & were on the path to irreversibly altering their physical & psychological functioning with surgery & GnRH agonists/cross-sex hormones. That’s kinda the point.

“The interview subjects are female-assigned at birth. They thought they were men or non-binary but now see themselves as women. They often attribute their transition to one of five things...but, by their own admission, these women in The Atlantic piece are not trans.”

TLDR: “I’m trans and I am threatened by the existence of de-transitioned people because my identity is so fragile it cannot withstand any scrutiny”.

“I don’t have an issue with the anything in the article, except for HOW it was presented... during pride month” -

This article is how not to be a journalist. Claim you want an answer, start the conversation out with the person that can give it to you like a petulant child, quote yourself in the article like you’re some authority figure. Way to go, champ.

May we assume that “What’s your fucking deal?” was not your first outreach? Why not present an earlier attempt - presuming you first contacted him and Atlantic with something like, “I am doing a piece on your various articles on trans issues. Can we sit down for an interview?” - which, perhaps went ignored, thus the
