There was a line (I don't remember which recent ep.)  that Red2 built and turned on the machine thinking it would
destroy Amber, and when all it did was create the bridge then they
declared the truce

Forget which is right Amber and Red 2 are just more alternate universe there is no concept of any one probability being the "correct" or any limit in the quantum arena.
