“How can a door be a jar?”
“I don’t know man, but I see it...”
“I see it too!”

I live in West Texas, not far from Dyess AFB, home of the USAF 7th Bomb Wing. B-1Bs routinely fly over my home town on training missions, and when they light their afterburners, those suckers are LOUD. I find it very hard to believe a Tu-95 Bear could be louder than a B-1 with afterburners lit.

To quote Hank Hill: “Soccer was invented by European ladies to keep them busy while their husbands did the cooking.”

Let’s get rid of cheerleaders at sporting events of every level while we’re at it. They can all have “yell leaders” like the damned TAMU Aggies.

What about Lotus?

I didn’t notice the Arlo Guthrie quote until you pointed it out! Nice!

When I was in college I waited tables at Bennigan’s in the Houston Galleria mall. The Galleria is a very posh mall, with high end stores like Tiffany’s, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Versace and even a stand alone Porsche Design Store. They also have your usual mall stores: Champs Sporting Goods, Gap, etc. But the high end

One great big festering neon distraction,

This is from Led Zeppelin’s BBC Sessions, not Led Zeppelin II. And he never said this was the first Zep album he purchased, just his age and when and where he bought it.

But I also bought II as my first Zep album (cd actually.)

Is the 500hp 4.0L air cooled engine an option on the “regular” Singer, with the gorgeous interior? While I understand the purpose of this car was light weight and high performance, the interior work Rob Dickinson’s crew does is one of the reasons I love their creations so much.

I agree. You couldn’t pay me to drive another one either. My first car was a brand new 87 Sundance five door hatch with the 2.2 and 3 speed auto. I also only kept it nine months, and it was in the dealership for warranty work for two of those nine months. Trans shit the bed, and electrical gremlins plagued that POS. I

Texas World Speedway was the site of Willie Nelson’s inaugural Fourth of July Picnic.

Second week of a six week course, I was driving 25 mph down a residential street in my hometown with the driver’s ed. teacher in the passenger seat. 1985 Chevy Caprice sedan, with the instructor’s brake in the passenger floorboard, btw. Cars are parked next to the curb on both sides of the street. Suddenly, a soccer

There are rules that kids have to follow on the bus. If a kid disobeys the rules, by throwing objects out of the bus for example, the driver can write up the kid and have them disciplined by the school principal the next day. But drivers DO have to maintain order on the bus. Just not discipline them in the true sense
