Second week of a six week course, I was driving 25 mph down a residential street in my hometown with the driver’s ed. teacher in the passenger seat. 1985 Chevy Caprice sedan, with the instructor’s brake in the passenger floorboard, btw. Cars are parked next to the curb on both sides of the street. Suddenly, a soccer

Not here.

There are rules that kids have to follow on the bus. If a kid disobeys the rules, by throwing objects out of the bus for example, the driver can write up the kid and have them disciplined by the school principal the next day. But drivers DO have to maintain order on the bus. Just not discipline them in the true sense

Parents aren’t allowed aboard for reasons like the OP. You never know if a parent wants to throttle some kid for picking on their child or something.

I’m in West Texas actually. We have front and rear air conditioners in our buses. So you ride with your kid to school, and walk home from there? Call and Uber or Lyft for a ride home? I don’t understand why you’d ride the bus with your child. Parents aren’t even allowed aboard the bus in my school district.

I live in a small town of about 25k. All the convenience stores and gas stations are usually within a penny or so of one another. But I always gas up at the same store because they offer five cents a gallon discount if you pay cash for your gas. If I have no cash on me, my bank’s ATM is only about 5 blocks down the

School bus driver here. The driver should have never let the kids roll down the windows on the bus in the first place. Kids will throw all manner of things out the windows of a bus, shout at kids they know, shout at strangers they don’t know, hang their heads, arms and even FEET out the window. Easiest to just tell

What’s the difference between a canoe and a Cannuck?

Canoes tip sometimes.

Do you know how you can tell you’re within 100 miles of College Station?

I live two blocks from a Dodge dealership that has a hail damaged white Hellcat with automatic trans for sale. Asking $55,000.

I don’t know how many years ago “a few” is, but when I lived in Houston in 2006 they had UH gear at Academy.

Good call. I stand corrected.

Now playing

I remember in the film “Jerry Maguire” Tom Cruise is cruising (see what I did there?) down the highway flipping through the radio looking for something to sing along to...until he comes to “Free Fallin’” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

I once had a friend who tried to blow up a vehicle. Burnt his lips pretty badly on the tailpipe.

I thought the rising cost of fuel (lower profits/bigger losses) and complaints about the noise were the primary reasons they were shelved.

Holy shit...Jerry Jones on his knees and not a beaver or bottle of scotch anywhere in sight!

Actually, he was nitpicking his punctuation. Pedants unite!

Google maps wasn’t a thing last time I had to drive in Austin, so I can’t say.

I lived in Houston for 11 years, and don’t recall seeing that. Know of an example?

The problem with getting around in Austin is the streets change names every mile or two. If you’re not intimately familiar with where they change and to what name, you can find yourself lost very quickly.
