You know, I used to think the same way. Then you start to realize, a lot of people really do need that capability, if infrequently. I find myself needing to tow a car 400+ miles round trip every few months, sometimes over 1000. I have many friends in similar situations, whether with cars, boats, campers, whatever.

Looks really interesting! A friend had just downloaded this, so now that you mentioned it I'm even more curious to check it out.

It would be neat if this kind of functionality could be built into Ingress, which is a pretty fun GPS based game that does promote walking to a variety of locations.

Somewhere, stowed away on one of America's floating fortresses, occupying precious space in its holds, is a dunking booth made with MIL-spec hardware.

That's actually an amazing elegant solution. Thouroughly impressed...

Wow, first time at sea and the Mobile Landing Platform is already at first base!

An odd little fact about the Gotland: due to its extremly cramped compartments, and the heat generated by the equipment, the crew (especially the sonar techs) often stand watch in just their underwear.

Nice to see this finally! I was stationed at the Naval Base Point Loma (Subbase) as a dock master for the 2 years that this little sucker was there.

I gave it a shot

You know I was thinking that the first second I saw it. Interesting how this is coming from the Skunk Works, maybe seeding it with the biggest defense giant in the world somehow protects it from the fossil fuel mafia?
