I've thought for a long time now that I was the only person left that remembered this show..

Been around for since the 90's amiright?

These bases are not used in up-front operations. These are used later when the opposition offences have been greatly reduced.

But will it baby?

I assume that someone anticipates doing a large scale landing on a hostile beach which we haven't done sense Inchon in 1950. So what's the mission of this newly developed capability? I assume that it sets out just over the horizon cycling LCACs in and out. I wonder what the cycle time tons/hour/LCAC for a mix of

That's actually an amazing elegant solution. Thouroughly impressed...

Wow, first time at sea and the Mobile Landing Platform is already at first base!

An odd little fact about the Gotland: due to its extremly cramped compartments, and the heat generated by the equipment, the crew (especially the sonar techs) often stand watch in just their underwear.

Nice to see this finally! I was stationed at the Naval Base Point Loma (Subbase) as a dock master for the 2 years that this little sucker was there.

I gave it a shot

Considering all the awful shit happening in the world at this moment, I'm going to kick my inner cynical skeptic in the nuts and bask in the potential hope a discovery and development like this gives me.

You know I was thinking that the first second I saw it. Interesting how this is coming from the Skunk Works, maybe seeding it with the biggest defense giant in the world somehow protects it from the fossil fuel mafia?

well at least this would be worth hundreds of millions per unit.

It holds more ordnance than a B-52, is semi-stealth, and can reach super sonic speeds when needed. I think it is pretty under-appreciated.

I was really surprised to learn the other day that a B-1B can carry more boom than a B-52.

"Oh hey, there's a tank right there."

"Got him." *boop* "Bombs away."

"Excellent, next target." *Sips at their still warm pumpkin spice latte coffee from the base Starbucks.*

BONE'd

I can't help but imagine every time a pilot drops a bomb and watches it explode on impact he says "and boom goes the dynamite"

Don't you talk about Ace Combat like that.
