Longest day ever and at almost 3am my time, I'm not sure how I'm still awake. I woke up early (8am) to go to the grocery store to make apple pie for my best friend's birthday. Luckily, my first time making pie only encountered a minor hiccup.

With the added bonus of it making the house smell good. When I lived in my old studio apartment, baking cookies would make it so I was greeted with the smell of deliciousness for 2-3 days when coming through the front door.
This reminds me of an article someone linked about how grad students feel. One of the things was the fear of being found out to be less smart than thought. Oh man, I constantly have this fear. :(
You can do it! Aww, I remember my feeling of elation when my referees agreed to write the letters. I don't know why, but it's a strange kind of happiness and surprise that people want to say good things about you. Even when you know you're capable, it's all...aww, shucks.

Yeah, as far as I know, that's more a thing with the Tamil community (from Sri Lanka and India). I was so jealous about all the girls that got parties while I got told the pads were under the sink. I'm North Indian, btw, so not that far removed. Just not cool enough. :(
Comedy and maple syrup/snow candy have saved our nation, I tells ya.
All the awesome people in this thread should make a club.
Haha, I can't even imagine.
Booooooooooooooooooooooooooo the Booins!
