At least two people have already replied to my comment with arguments against body cameras. So, apparently yes.
The body cameras only record things happening in places where police officers are already present. Those places are already being surveilled. I agree that over-policing is an important issue which deserves attention, but I don’t see how body cameras have a serious impact on it.
I could be wrong, but I’m not aware of any body cameras in current use which are accessible wirelessly. That limits the possibilities for hacking. As far as trusting them to have that information, it’s a recording of things that happened where an officer was already present. I’m pretty comfortable with them having a…
For once, I feel like this spam could actually be read as an appropriate response tot the post.
Video is certainly not a complete solution by itself, but it can’t hurt.
Is “Ha ha” no longer sufficient?
There is no good argument against police body cameras. They’re becoming more and more affordable, especially compared to other gadgets police officers are routinely equipped with. Not only do they deter incidents like this, they also provide great evidence against criminals in situations where officers are behaving…
I pledge right now to purchase any superhero comic that depicts Wonder Woman engaging in actual heroics while Batman makes pancakes.
Exactly. I don’t understand what people are upset about. It’s not like you HAVE to purchase a game just because it has been released on Steam. Nor does the presence of games like these mean that other games won’t be released. It’s digital distribution, they can release as many games as they want.
They still write like they’re writing for Jon Stewart. Jokes that would work fine with Stewart’s delivery just fall flat when Noah reads them.
Many of them are true, and many of them are false. It’s the internet, after all. A little research before election day should clear it up.
Mass Effect may be a space opera, but it definitely draws some aesthetic influences from the world of cyberpunk.
Lucas Pope gets a “special thanks” in the credits. No idea whether there’s any connection beyond that.
For what it’s worth, there’s a special thanks to Lucas Pope in the credits. No idea whether that means Lucas Pope had any involvement in the game or even knew about it, but it at least means he credited Pope as having something to do with the game.
They aren’t, but those type of businesses are disproportionately represented when it comes to female-led businesses featured on Shark Tank. It probably speaks to sexism on the part of whoever is screening people who want to appear on the show.
Incorrect. “Not guilty by reason of insanity” is a very high bar to clear in the American legal system. Just being mentally ill does not mean someone cannot be held responsible for their actions. They essentially have to be completely incapable of distinguishing right from wrong or understanding reality.
If this ever gets near the point where he might actually be at risk for spending even a single day in jail, Cosby is going to pull a Polanski and get out of the country.
It’s a game that seems to have been forgotten, but I’d throw Legend of Legaia on the list. That series had some cool ideas and an interesting aesthetic.
I used to work for GameStop. While there are many, many things they could be doing better, they do at least have a policy in place to test each used game they purchase to ensure it at least starts up, has no visible damage, and does not seem to be pirated.
