The problem is that police officers can now cite you without a sound measurement. I'd love to meet the officer that can accurately determine is a car is 94dB or 96dB while they are driving past in the opposite direction.

Playing devils advocate here, my biggest question is, how old was Drake in this video? If he was 19, then this goes from disturbing to just slightly creepy. If he’s 26+, then it is disturbing. People tend to forget that he was a child star, so again if we’re talking about a 2-3 (17-19) year age gap, it changes things.…
I understand that, but pointing out what a realistic swap cost is, I think it’s a decent deal.
Typical bro truck assholes. They’re just cranky because there’s a new king of torque in town.
AEV charges 30k for the Hemi swap (and 38k if you do the swap with a stick), so it’s actually well priced. Usually though you have to lift the truck for oil pan clearance, so I'd like to see how they did it. If it was a different color I'd probably buy it right now.
Do it, and instead of removing the cladding, get it painted body color.
Your voltage regulator is shot. For someone with extensive wrenching knowledge (and Jeep experience, because it’s crazy common in Jeeps), I am extremely surprised you haven’t figured that out.
You do realize that certain R34s now qualify for import under Show and Display, right?
A local dealer I worked for for a bit sold these Arkoniks. They look beautiful but have zero mechanical upgrades, so they drive poorly. East Coast Defenders upgrades the engines, brakes and suspension, and IMO makes a much better product.
Is this even a discussion?
One of my old managers at a dealer used to say, “All you have to do to be better than half the salespeople out there is to be mediocre.” No truer words have been spoken.
Man, where’s my tinfoil hat when I need it?
The internals are a bit different, but it does use a lot of the same parts. My S65 with 150k had a bad conductor plate ($500 installed), and once that was fixed it shifted like a dream again.
Specialty cars are a different animal. What I was referring to were used cars, not new. And looking outward from just one example, I have a friend at a Mercedes store that is willing to take a loss on a new GT convertible but will get full MSRP on a GLC Coupe. Working at a dealership, you should know that MSRP is not…
That’s why you agree to a price pending PPI and leave a deposit, then get said PPI done quickly (48-72 hours MAXIMUM). If a dealer won’t honor a deposit for 48 hours, you probably don’t want to touch them.
Depends. There the same or more money made on a 20k loan at 10% as a 40k loan at 5%. Guess which vehicle is more likely to qualify for a better interest rate?
I’ve worked at a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep store, two Audi stores and a Porsche store. Every dealer I’ve ever worked at has been fine with an outside PPI. The object of negotiations in sales is to overcome objections, and when an independent mechanic gives the car a clean bill of health, the customer feels much more relaxed.
The profit margins on a 60k car and a 20k car are not substantially different.
You’re missing the entire point. When working at a dealer where a customer wants an independent PPI on a vehicle, you come to an agreement on price PENDING a PPI. The customer signs a buyers order stating as such, leaves a deposit, and provided the car is up to snuff, the transaction is consummated.
Dick move on Mclaren’s part. Take peoples’ money and then go, “Oh sorry, can’t help you get the car in the US. Sucks to be you NERD.”
