You’re actually incorrect. That straight piped V12 video was a non-turbo V12. They sound totally different as the turbos kill the noise and change the tone. The turbo V12s don’t sound nearly as good. Good, but not like a Zonda. They basically sound like the Huayra.

The car simply does not get traction below 60. I put the traction control into sport many a time and floored it. At first the car hooks, but at about 15mph the turbos light and the tires go up in smoke. It’s great.

Honestly, V8 Vantage manual > 911 GTS. Why? Well the new turboed 911s have lost a lot of their fun factor which is a real shame. I think that Aston is perched where Porsche was about 7 years ago. Their time to shine is on the horizon. If I had the money I’d be buying a V12 Vantage stick and a stick DBS right now.

They’re still putting ABC on the W222? It’s a wonderful ride but god damn is it a nightmare to work on.

It’s like driving a yacht with a silent Saturn V rocket strapped to the back. It cannot put the power down below 60 and it accelerates faster from 60-120 than 0-60. It is also scary-expensive to maintain.

You forgot BMW, Rolls, Bentley, Pagani and Aston Martin.

The answer is Golf R, clearly. I’d normally say go for the stick, but in SF I’d opt for a DSG as well.

Not even close. It even pushed it a step farther than most factory hot rods. The biggest difference, which is completely invisible topside, is the fact that instead of spot welding/seam sealing the unibodies together like other models, they welded them together fully, giving the Type Rs a significantly stiffer

That is a face only a mother could love.

Yeah, except for the wide body, better suspension, way more horsepower and better seats. The M2 and M240 are not in the same realm. Put snows on the M2 and it even does well in the snow. Saying that the upgrade is not worth it is sour grapes.

This is gold:

Whatever you have been smoking lately, I’d like some please.

Except the Turbo I6 is an animal and is the Australian equivalent to a 2JZ.

Spoken like someone that has never driven a V12 65 car. It’s like driving down a velvety ribbon of torque. Cooler than the other side of the pillow. There is nothing like it. While I agree that it doesn’t make much sense on paper, it is one of the great ones. It will be missed.

In order to figure out what is going to be a future classic, you have to put yourself in the shoes of someone in their early 30s. Imagine that you’re about that age, then think about what cars were hot when they were kids. To me, this is a potential list. Not everything will shoot up on this list, but I’d say 50% will:

With the sharply increasing value of ITRs, I’m not surprised by this. I think this is how people felt in the 80s when muscle cars shot up in value.

You run a higher chance than 50/50 of being hosed if Hoovie.

Or for about $1500 you can set up an LLC in Montana and register your cars there. No smog and no sales tax.

Porsche better step their Macan game up.
