I’ve heard my whole life that automation is replacing jobs. 30 years ago people were probably predicting a 50% unemployment rate by now. Despite that we have the most automation and technology, and record low unemployement, at least in the US. There is clearly not a trend toward fewer jobs.

It advertises a USB port, and says “Plug in your phone with a USB cable to super-size your mobile content.”  I see no mention of protocol or supported operating systems, but there’s a chance you don’t need a streaming dongle.

I always wanted OLED wallpaper that could light a room and not cast any shadows. It was supposed to be cheap and printable, at least that’s what they said when OLEDs first came out. Replace the wallpaper with OLED TVs and you have a VR room. Way more expensive than projectors.

By telling everyone that means that everyone will pay to update their system, essentially rewarding the company for messing up.  Hopefully the fix will be free (possibly in exchange for promising to not sue)

I gave up trying to listen to Catch 22 on audio book for the same reason. There were 42 chapters, each of them named after a character. I needed a paper copy that I could flip back and forth and take notes on. For Game of Thrones I found a family tree(s) to reference. That was enough for the first season. Then I gave

My best hack is to eat right-handed. Eating with utensils requires some skill. You eat multiple times a day so can get plenty of practice. If you screw up then the most you do is drop food, no big deal. In the end you end up more ambidextrous, more capable of living in a right handed world. I’ve been doing this for a

Maybe I’m just old, but I still don’t know what snapchat is.

US side: avoid if possible.

My highschool computers had At-Ease, a program that gave them a windows 8 start menu-like interface, meant to make it easy for pre-school kids to use a computer. It was not security software, but it made the computers less useful. Its settings file had the password in plain text.

I don’t know much about fancy food, but man that first toast picture is tripping my trypophobia.

This is an android device. According to the reviews of the last Nebula, the device was kinda buggy an no updates were released to fix any of the problems. I wouldn’t trust this.

They have biodegradable plastic cups, made with PLA and a corn based resin. I figure they could make straws wit the same stuff.

Just as gmail was starting to get good I had another email provider. I was getting 10 spams a day, and they had no spam filter. I had already decided gmail was a viable option, but I wanted to try a couple things to get rid of the spam: First I clicked the ‘unsubscribe’ link, or responded with ‘unsubscribe’ if none

I’m colorblind (red deficient) and I got a perfect score the last time I took one of these tests. It was more of a test of shade than of color. This one appears better, I got a score of 4.

FYI, only a tiny piece of that comment was actually true.

My dad’s best life hack was to always buy sushi at the cheapest place I could find it: grocery stores, gas stations, street vendors. It is often just as good as the expensive restaurant stuff. He died recently from a combination of intestinal parasites and food poisoning from an unknown source, but I’ll never forget

3.5 stars, not too bad. There are claims that some of them are fakes, but they’re all sold directly from the manufacturer so I’m guessing their production is just very inconsistent.

It’s worth mentioning that extra payments or early payments don’t count toward the 120 required for loan forgiveness.

That, and Fing network scanner are my 2 most used tools for network problems.
