The Atelier games were always bad when it came to that. Even playing it on a 720p 24” monitor was painful. On a SD tv? Text was unreadable. I could definitely see how this could help.
Mechanics and systems shouldn’t be changed, either, if they’re not in the vision of the developing team, IMO. There’s a difference between say, adding a separate button for dodge and parry, versus completely overhauling the battle system because somebody complains they wanted turn-based battles back.
Right. I don’t think anyone was making the point that they shouldn’t add a female character because of that (at least I wasn’t).
Yeah, although that just gave the player another choice at the end (I’m assuming you’re talking about Mass Effect 3), and an alternate ending (never finished it, so don’t really know the details). The original is still there, AFAIK. I view that more as “bonus” footage, added after the game was released. If, before the…
Get feedback about tweaks they can make to the gameplay, sure. Not feedback about the story. This game is 10 years of work putting a team’s vision into material form. Developers should tell the stories. Not the public. I don’t want to hear the public’s story. I want to hear this team’s story.
People will complain. That has no correlation whatsoever with whether or not they should do it. If no one ever did anything if someone was going to complain about it, nothing would ever get done.
So am I!

It doesn't matter if they write her well. That will still happen.
Fix the technical problems, change the control scheme, tweak a thing or two here or there, sure. But changing the storyline so that it no longer fits the developer's vision? (I'm not sure this wasn't planned already. But if not...). If the consumers want Han Solo and Princess Leia to have a baby in the next Star Wars…
Is the interview up on their website? I'm not seeing it.
I don't see why not. Just look at the Magic Mike movies.
I hope this wasn't in response to the feedback they asked for after Episode Duscae came out. If it was already planned, sure, go for it (which I'm thinking it probably was). But to change Square Enix's story vision in response to fans complaining would be weaksauce, IMO.
10,000 people just started chanting "You look stupid" at Sheamus. I mean...as much as you're playing the role of a heel, that still can't feel good.
OK, I must admit. That video from 2013 was incredibly more entertaining than I ever thought it was going to be.
And zombies. Every game needs zombies.
