I responded to someone else, but I'm surprised to hear so many people say
that they knew little old ladies who had no idea he was gay. My
grandmothers were both fans, and according to my mom they were
completely aware that he was gay and loved him. Of course, one grandma
was from Chicago and the other from Boston and

My mom tells this story, which happened before I was born. Her mother and mother-in-law (my grandmothers) went with a mutual friend to see Liberace. My mom watched them as they left and the third woman said something about Liberace not having ever found the right woman, and my two grandmothers snickered and said

Although, Tyrion told Littlefinger he planned on marrying Joffery's sister off to Theon and it wasn't considered implausible or strange.

One interesting thing here is that Walder Frey seems terribly unpopular. I realize Cat wanted to save Ned, but it seems rather foolish to promise your oldest son to one of the sour daughters of a man who is wildly disliked and overcharges terribly for crossing his bridge. Robb probably should have been promised to

I really wanted more of the Gendry storyline, and I hope we get more next week. I'm especially interested in his reaction to being the son of a king, not just the noble blood but putting it all together why he's had a target on his back all this time. Maybe he and Jon could rule the kingdom as the Bastards' League.

I'm craving more character interaction. It's time from a sibling reunion. Arya and Robb. Bran, Rickon and Jon. Hell, Jon and Sansa. Jamie and Tyrion. Something. I feel like all this characters are stuck in their little plots and humming along, and I get war and separation (Winter is Coming, y'all) is a major theme,

I'm guessing nobody would follow Joffery's orders over Tywin's orders. One, I think lots of people believe the incest stories so probably don't think Joffery is king except for the fact that Tywin and his effective army says he is. Secondly, I think one of the major themes of the show is that power is a balancing game

The best part was that Tywin was sort of kind of making an effort to show protocol, but he was also making it clear his heart was not in it. He made "your grace" sound like "you worm".

I've got thoughts! Having a clip show last week and the reunion this week was too much. It should have just been one episode, and I'm saying that as someone who only watched the compressed version online. I did enjoy the pageant style opening number because Detox's makeup/look is one for the ages.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to fix the sound on my computer before I opened another window and got sound on another video. Logo's streaming is god-awful.

Detox's black-and-white look was a showstopper.

I don't think Margaery manipulates him through sexiness, so much as stroking his ego. Like a good psychopath, Joffery prefers having someone fangurl over his superiority rather than his attractiveness. He may like that she's hot because other people will notice, though.

Yes, I think Tully is getting a crappy deal. I'm trying to figure out why the incessant Rob bashing rubs me the wrong way because I fully recognize he screwed up. I guess I just sympathize that he went from having two loving parents and a gaggle of siblings to basically being alone with the world on his shoulders.

Another question: Who is more doomed? Joffery, of course, because he's a sadist in a position where being a sadist gets you killed eventually (See the Mad King) while Ramsey seems to have carved (snerk) a nice little niche for himself in his father's service.

I sympathize with Robb a lot, and I'm bewildered at the Robb bashing when over and over again we've been told he wins every battle. He's probably no more than twenty years old, his father died under horrific circumstances and his own mother disobeyed his orders and completely screwed him over. He acted impulsively for

No doubt Robb made a mess of things by marrying Talisa, but he's a young man and he did it for love, which is a thing that some human beings value. If I were Walter Frey, I'd be far more angry if Robb had married into another northern noble family that gave that family the strategic advantage he was looking for. Frey

If married to Tyrion, people will snigger to her face. While married to Loras, people will snigger behind her back. She might be oblivious and happy with Loras for awhile, but she does have pride and it would smart when she learned the truth. Weirdly, I think Littlefinger might be the best deal for her, as he doesn't

Loras's new boytoy has a great ass.

There certainly would have had to have been a negotiation to give Robb certain powers, and maybe a tweak or two of the oath, but I think both Robb and Renly could have worked it out. The North is basically Scotland, so I agree there would have been a push for independence, but some compromise would have been good for

There's a reason Melisandre had the shadow monster straight up kill Renly rather than risk a battle. Renly may have been the younger, but he would have figured out a way to get Robb on his side while saving face. Together, they could have easily defeated Stannis and probably defeated the Lannisters, especially with
