Glad your sisters story had a happy ending. You are right about the financial thing though. Often when Indian parents say that they are thinking only about their childrens happiness they actually mean the kind of happiness money can buy. Even if the money comes attached with a spouse who looks and acts like a troll.

I know it works sometimes. Especially if the couple knew each other before hand. It’s the complete strangers getting hitched because they belonged to a desirable clan/caste/social group that makes me sad.
