Yeah, I would say drinking and alcohol both have bad results on developing brains. I assume if I have kids, they will do both, but I hope they don’t do either enough to cause problems.

While I think using marijuana is overall less harmful than drinking alcohol, I wouldn’t minimize the effect of marijuana, especially on teens. It’s been shown to have deleterious effects on developing brains. More or less than alcohol? I don’t know. But it’s not just a matter of being uncomfortable.

I joke with my wife that I’m going to let our son watch Deadwood. He’s going to learn the bad words eventually. By watching Deadwood, at least he will learn to speak eloquently while using them.
