Paltrow says that after that Weinstein called and said he’d blackball her if she told anyone else. She may have well asked Pitt never to tell anyone and he respected that.

Pitt handled it the proper way: directly and immediately. What’s he supposed to do, babysit WEinstein the rest if his life? And I haven’t checked but I don’t know that Pitt has worked on many if any of Weinstein’s films.

These stories of women speaking up and sexual assulat need to go public on a constant basis. Thats the only way society will change. And it will change. I’ve never seen so much conversation about women speaking up before. The google thing, hollywood, politics, women are speaking up everywhere more than anytime in

I’ve been raped three separate times. I’ve been to the police on every occasion. On two I knew my attacker and on one I had a rape kit and gave the identity of the person. None of it got as far as charges laid, despite basically handing the police the thing on a platter time and again. I’d say tons of women just

Interestingly, re: the NYT story that was spiked, Damon says he did call the reporter, Sharon Waxman, to discuss an aspect of the story, at Harvey’s urging. He talks about the brief conversation, etc. Waxman supports his story (that he did not know the investigational aspects of her story).

No, I agree. But I will never point a finger of blame or shame at a victim who didn’t feel brave enough to step up.

Several recent examples show that when enough do speak out, it DOES make a difference.

The ones who do speak up or make it clear they don’t like these creepy men just start to lose their careers and with them their public platform. And then anyone who does come forward can easily be made to look bitter, deluded, or in search of money/attention. I’m still not certain what made a difference in this case.

Women did speak up, at the time. One Italian actress went to the police and he admitted it to the prosecutor and it was still buried. As was said here a memo was circulated about his behavior.

Has anyone brought up the story of Weinstein and Troy Duffy, the writer/director of Boondock Saints? Weinsteing basically destroyed Duffy’s career as a director over some beef, kept Boondock Saints from being picked up by a studio, and then possibly tried to have Duffy killed. It’s an interesting story and the

Michael Moore rose to prominence for capturing the fall of Flint Michigan in real time, He basically rose to fame for being a working class guy who told the neo-cons to go fuck themselves. Like his 90s tv shows were the closet we go to John Oliver or Sam Bee back then. Like seriously, just read the plots to the

I was at the airport bar a couple weeks ago when a young woman realized she left her wallet in the car. She left ALL HER THINGS at the bar (it was in Iowa) and ran to her car to retrieve it. A handful of men were there and they were all trying to figure out how she got to the airport bar without it.

Mirimax has a very strict policy against being caught and publicly shamed for sexual harassment and assault. And this week he violated that policy.

My goddess... the man even rapes POTTED PLANTS.

Public pressure can be a great thing.

The worst thing going forward is if good people who see through the bullshit give up, stay numb, go to sleep. I’m a black mother to a black son, it has gotten better for black people. Because many brave and normal people refused to be dehumanized and resisted. Or just continued to exist despite thier very presence

I know who Bulger is. And the corrupt FBI agent involved was arrested, convicted and sent to prison. Thousands and thousands ? You sound like a left wing Alex Jones. And btw when a person replies with “google” they sound like jerk.

In 1959, there were millions of Americans who’d fought in or lost family members during WWII. Nazis wouldn’t dare march in the streets - they’d have been shot at from homes. There were other white supremacist groups who would be out, but unconcealed Nazis in the open, this is a much more recent phenomenon. Be afraid.

The way this article wrote it is bad. The FBI has thousands of employees doing many things. Do you not think they can monitor white supremacists at the same time? There are a lot of different extremist groups. Just yesterday there was an article about the FBI stopping a kid from killing black people at Howard Univ.

This is wonderful and so thoughtful. If the Times isn’t seriously considering Kelly as a voice they should include in future coverage of the romance genre, they know less than Jon Snow.
