@Brain.wav: Yup, I would pick it up no matter how old it is. Tech is tech, it's all fun.

@kellanpan: Talk radio and/or radio shows. Listen to PLA Radio for some decent laughs.

@Brain.wav: I would probably pick it up ...

That looks awesome.

I use MagicISO but I hear good things about PowerISO and UltraISO too. One thing I like about MagicISO is the UIF compressed image format, it crunches DVDs amazingly.

Sweet, I'm gunna do this.

@MavrixWK: That's what I was thinking. I'd hate to be in the way if he goes out of control.

I saw the infopic of this. I'm tempted to do it but I don't want to wreck a good book. It should probably be hardcover and those are more expensive.

How many times have I seen that freaking shark? I just now learned who's character it is after finally looking it up.

What if I don't already have a fireplace?

@bens: I hope China has a lot of cryptoanarchist and cyber/cypherpunk organizations, screw that censorship crap.

@wasting_company_time: Which is why you must get internet going though analog cable. My city is a bit poor so there are still tons of older lines in houses, it's simple for the cable company to turn on a connection, not to mention that it's much cheaper than digital.

I'd get a separate tower and install several 1 or 2 TB drives. Install Firewire and USB3.0 PCI cards, then make the disks network drives. Proceed to install remote desktop programs and a torrent client.

That was freaking awesome. Can I do that?

@mexi1010: I'm afraid there's nothing you can do with DSL other than use a router for internet.

Load up the Tor node, I'm going to go liberate China.

I have a better idea, get analog cable internet ($30 here) and split to the TV. Unless the cable company wants to pay a worker to spend all day installing a frequency filter at your house then you're fine.

@zdevex: It does? I thought that was only the paid version. Maybe I'll use UltraVNC now, the plugins look good.

I've been really wanting to make a parabolic dish antenna ([www.engadget.com] and http://www.binarywolf.com/249/parabolic.htm ) but I can't find a cheap satellite dish around my area. Surely someone on Craigslist would be willing to part with a dish for under $25.

I use the numberpad almost exclusively when punching in digits. It bugs me when I have to look down at the keyboard.
