In our neck of the woods CO2 based car taxation means non-electrics are expensive. Passat wagon is about 30k and up. Base Skoda Enyaq/VW ID4 can be had for less than 40k - subsidies. With current fuel prices even sippies diesel costs about 8€/100km. Electric about 1€/100km (with home charging).

Yeah, I need car mostly for hobbies and they require trunk space in spades. Also in regular life we have kid and lots of sports activities with wife, so also there the trunk space is appreciated.

They properly copped out on the design. I mean ID3/4 look nice outside, but original ID Buzz concept was properly pretty. This however looks really really bad. Wonder if the lackluster feedback on the ID4 caused some weird design backlash.

I’ve got Enyaq 4x4 coming and it’s a sibling of your ID4. What bums me is the solidly mounted rear seats. I mean the Enyaq has even more rear leg room in the back, but the seats do not move. The trunk is OK, 580l, but it would be even larger if one could move the seats.
