Honest Trailers compared it to Hans Gruber’s fake American accent in Die Hard and now that’s all I can hear. It’s just... too nasal.

I haven’t found it to be TOO bad. But this just makes me think, Tom Holland actually does a really solid American accent.

Yeah, I’m glad Feige and the MCU writers decided NOT to give the incels any more ideas about genocide as a means to get a date.

I saw it at a packed matinee and after that mic drop of an ending you could hear, scattered throughout the packed auditorium, kids processing it was over and The Bad Guy Won. Just audible brains melting. It’s probably the closest replication to seeing Empire Strikes Back in the theaters in 1980 I’ve had.

Dear Internet I am begging you please do not let anyone ever make any suitcase-related Armond GIFs.

What is really bad about this is Snope use to be a good authority on if content was real or not and for years the tin foil hat MAGA idiots would says it’s “fake news”.  They are going to point to this news as proof even though the plagiarized content wasn’t false, just stolen

if you can’t pander during a pandemic, when can you????

Since the AV Club is really just where the Onion sends their less funny writers as a sort of farm team, the proper label is “claimed satire”. Nobody actually believes anything they read here. Especially the comments.

I know, I’m rock hard too.

oh god, i thought you were saying Matt Berry entirely wasn’t going to be on the show.

This is like Example #534 that there are too many shows on TV. We could easily trim 25-30 shows off of the various platforms and nobody would notice.

Does anyone else remember before The Dissolve, that you could order AV Club branded butt plugs autographed by Nathan Rabin?

No love for his performance of the song (with a young Robert Downey Jr on drums!) in the 80s classic Tuff Turf?

Florence Pugh

...But you still came to comment on this article?

Roxana Hadid, I just want to say you did a really great job breaking down this episode, most especially fleshing out Tennyson’s poem and extrapolating some of its themes to this episode. You keyed on the “gray areas of just who are those at the hotel consumed by exhaustion, desperation, and malaise from overwork.  Bec

Fun, tense episode. It says something (I’m not sure what) that as awful as these characters are, I’m kind of rooting for them. Except for Shane of course. And Olivia.

Now playing

I’m not sure there was a better live rock band in the late 70s/early 80s than ZZ Top. Dusty was a monster bassist.

ZZ Top and Dire Straits are two bands whose long, interesting, varied music catalogs I discovered as a kid thanks to their ridiculous & ubiquitous 80s MTV videos.
