There are superhero movies I have enjoyed more since The Avengers came out, but I don’t know if a single moment has brought me as much nerdy joy in the theater as the “single shot” tracking from hero to hero in the Battle of New York that felt like a comic book splash page come to life.

I think you nail this squarely on the head. I’ve been slowly rewatching the MCU on Disney+ lately, and the majority of Phase 1 and early Phase 2 films, while tying together mostly nicely, have some pretty jarring shifts in tone and character usage and development ... and then “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and

One thing overlooked is that it is Black Widow who figures out the villain scheme (twice!) and closes the wormhole. This version of the character is straight out of Whedon, but without him she probably isn’t the one to do that.

Again, I forget who wrote this about Raiders of the Lost Ark — in that it’s a perfect movie because for almost two straight hours you’re told that the Ark is “unspeakable power,” etc. and then they finally open it and... it really is the Wrath of G-d, kills the Nazis, etc. It’s almost a perfect catharsis for what

There were at least half a dozen times in the theater during Avengers that the whole crowd was just electrified and totally on the same page with how awesome what we were seeing was. Off the top of my head:

As someone who grew up caring far too much about the back deals of moviemaking because all I wanted was a Spider-man movie (which I eventually got and loved with Tobey), seeing the MCU not only come together but be a massive success was both satisfying as a fan and as someone who found the business side almost as

I remember the joy I felt watching the first Avengers. It was such an electric feeling in the cinema and the crowd went apeshit when Tony first turns up next to Cap.

I believe Stephen King donated his former home in Bangor to become a writers’ retreat. I would love to go there and work on a story about a writer working on a story at a spooky, cursed, haunted writers’ retreat in Bangor

Dichen Lachman!

My recollection was that the issue involved the character being Tibetan specifically. If you want your movie to be released in China, you need to tread carefully around the subject of Tibet.

Real Life is seriously underrated, as well as a glimpse into the future (or should I say present).

And King Kong! He’s legitimately great in King Kong!

I just picked up the collectors edition blu ray of King Kong ‘76 and he’s so great in that.

The Lonely Guy is so good. He is perfect as the best friend. Those cardboard cutout friends they used for parties were ahead of their time.

He was amazing and hilarious in The Heartbreak Kid, but also in The Great Muppet Caper, Midnight Run, and (yes, I’ll go there) Ishtar.

Look, I know the writers don’t choose where to put the stupid Read More links on the site but this

Have you seen I, Tonya? He’s pretty greasy in that.

Seeing John Cena, Dave Bautista & Sasha Banks, among others, storming through the door that Andre the Giant and Roddy Piper inched open & Dwayne Johnson blasted off its hinges continues to be the best thing. A lot of pro wrestlers are legitimately great actors and I really hope this trend continues (Miz for Johnny

Feel like Michael Fassbender should’ve played Tommy Lee. Some things just shouldn’t be faked.

Right? I don’t want to see a digitally ensmalled penis on Sebastian Stan!
