I just googled her and her hair extensions are terrifying

Dear god. I had never heard of Paster so I just checked out her Instagram ... I know that calling someone “basic” has become passé, but it’s all I can think as I scroll though her pics ... basic, basic, basic.
L’Wren :(
I want to say 2008 was a different time, not that it makes it OK. But the important thing is that as soon as Christian realized “tranny” was definitely not OK to throw around (even cutely, as he basically did), he course corrected. He didn’t try to hang on to it or defend it or explain it, he just stopped. And he…
heh, I don’t remember that line but if he said it, he made good on it; more than half his final collection was worn by models of color (MOC?)
Fun fact: Melissa McCarthy was a costume designer before she became an actress. Then she went to FIT for a few years, but started doing standup and made the permanent switch over to comedy.
I adore Kyemah! Did you know she’s at Parsons right now? The industry is so lucky to have her, I can’t wait to see what she brings in the future.
I have to agree that if your shortlist won’t offer you a custom dress, you should just pay for one (and I actually admire having a very short list of designers one is willing to work with; it shows that you know what you want). No one is owed anything just because they are famous.
très chic!
I got Leslie’s cover with my Elle subsciption! I was very happy, felt like I received the best version. And she looks amazing
I love Christian. He annoyed me a li’l bit on his PR season with the nonstop catchphrases, but his talent was always undeniable and he’s grown up to be such an admirable young man :)
i apologized for my original comment already more than three times. do you want blood?
i was referring to a previous poster, who i thought you were supporting.
Hey, we can be friends now! I do not enjoy making enemies in Internet comment sections (until someone calls Bill Cunningham an elitist, in which case they are dead to me). Life is too short. :)
Went to his show when he was touring with Timbaland, and his band was black, his singers were black. He’s not shying away from his musical roots. He’s not trading on his whiteness. Benefitting from his whiteness? 100%. But I don’t see him whitewashing anything about his music.
Well you are correct that I elided over the criticism the Beastie Boys have received regarding appropriation, although I do think that they, much like Eminem, are generally accepted by most in the hip-hop community due to being seen as basically authentic. And it’s true that their activism has been more in the areas…
I don’t think it’s dumb. The Beastie Boys aren’t black, but they grew up in Brooklyn and no one questions their authentic love for hip-hop or calls them “cultural tourists” or whatever, because they are seen as sincere. (eta: as does your love of bluegrass music)
You’re pretty humorless, eh? Most people would at least chuckle at the idea of a ramen-headed child jamming along to the Kidz Bop version of “Hellhound on My Trail.”
I mean that if you are on Star Search at 11 and The Mickey Mouse Club at 12, you did as much “growing up” in Los Angeles and Orlando as you did in Memphis.
