Can we all agree, though, that a system that puts you in fear of losing your job if you are honest about your experiences with your company is a completely fucked up one?

Many years ago while working as an electrical engineer I read an article in the trade newspaper EE Times comparing new car buying practices in the US and Germany.  Pretty sure their survey base was reasonably successful engineers, but not one of them would consider financing a new car.  You just saved ‘til you could

How? Americans are absolutely stupid with money. As in the shitty little houses in my neighborhood are now selling for over a million bucks. How people are affording that? Probably same as always: Maxing themselves to the hilt in debt.

There is a general presumption that there is a normal or fair profit to make and to make more than that is...abnormal, or unfair.

As much as I want to like Tesla the car, I’m learning very quickly to hate Tesla the company and, even more so, Tesla the philosophy.

No doubt. Along with the nanny state air bags and seatbelts that protected the children from dying.

Wait... Sorry... Sorry... I thought that this was a Torch article.

camo is a cultural identifier.

Is this safety system because of one of those onerous job/economy killing government regulations that libertarians and conservatives say will destroy everything and kill us all like clean air and water regulations?

I am so tired of Angry Face cars.

I am so tired of Angry Face cars.

People are rooting for Harley to fail because they relied to hard on the "Im a rebel! Look at my deafening bike and total asshat riding!" crowd.

I wouldn’t mind Harley failing, so we can get less of the “Loud Pipes Save Lives” douchebags that make the rest of us public enemy #1.

Turns out that Germany doesn’t like people who build cults of personality and disregard laws as a matter of company policy. I wonder why?

I was referring to how monetary fines are objectively harsher on poorer people. Time is equal among all of us so it’s a fairer solution (8 hours for Elon is the same 8 hours you or I have, which we all would rather be doing something else with it).

We want folks to drive well, but we also have built a country where not having a drivers’ license pretty much dooms you, so the pressure to just hand them off to anyone able to fog a mirror overwhelms any real intent at making drivers good at it.
