I believe a court would have to issue a separate order for contempt. Alas, a court itself has no authority to actually take someone to jail for contempt. It has to be an authorized agent such as law enforcement or the military. How that gets played out here (and in the future) I have no idea.

I read a post by a political science professor that I think bears noting:

I wonder how close she’ll be to the front lines when the civil war goes full swing.

I’ve posted this before and I shall continue to post it because it’s important. I think that the word “choice” throws people off. They think it means, “I’ll do whatever I want” and ends up in the minds of pro-lifers to mean, “I’m selfish.” There’s so much more at stake than just choice per se, and here’s what they

They won’t turn on him until after they’ve milked everyone and everything for all they can get. This is a major cash grab and their big chance to force every wet dream piece of legislation through as quickly as they can. Only after they’ve exhausted that will they give his demise any genuine consideration. For now,

Saner doesn’t mean better. It means “less insane.”

“JFC, why is this reality?!”

Sort of. You still have to take into account what other people think of you. I don’t let other people’s thoughts of me determine what I think of me; but if I know they have issues, and I still have to deal with them, it’s certainly going to affect how I might approach them. And if they think certain things about

“BUT THEIR HANDS AND CONSCIENCES ARE CLEAN!!!1!”

You forgot to ask, “eh?”

Doesn’t the Constitution say that only the House of Representatives can order the expenditure of money?

Trouble is, if this bill passes, or if other actions get taken over the next two years that alienate other nations or cancel/violate treaties currently in place, then other nations are not just going to say, “oh, you changed; we trust you now.” These things have serious, long-term implications.

How long before Trump starts going down the, “Some animals are more equal than others,” when describing his supporters?

Actually, it’s more like this:

We ended up in this darkest of timelines but not enough people who could have voted (gerrymandered and suppressed votes not counting) came out to vote, despite continuous warnings that this is what would happen. We also keep a significant portion of the population in ignorance, and they vote with their emotions; they

It’s a very specific type of propaganda. It’s gaslighting. As I suspect most commenters here already know, gaslighting tries to get us to question our own understanding of reality. It strives to undermine confidence in facts.
