I’m sure many of you already know this, but my comment has some sources that you can pass along if you need. I was always pro choice, but my wife made me aware of this particular argument, and it opened my eyes a lot. I want to give credit to her.

“Homosexual spirit? What??”
“I think Scalia’s passing had a price.”
“The world was a different place 100 years ago.”
“It feels like the Republicans want to trim everything back to pre-New Deal times. People were dying because they didn’t have any kind of help at all. There was a reason all of those programs were created.”
“Can’t wait to see the response from all the poor people who voted for Trump when they lose their health coverage.”
As I noted elsewhere, local community standards get to define what is obscene or pornographic, provided that what is being defined also appeals to a prurient interest. See Miller v California 1973.
Correct. SCOTUS ruled in Miller v California (1973) that obscenity and pornography were defined by local community standards. (However, it does also require appealing to a prurient interest. Hence, an art book with nudes wouldn’t count.)
I would rather like to see Putin destroy Trump. Thing is, if he does that, he loses his most easily manipulable puppet. And in turn, he lends credence to the notion (okay, the fact) that he also controls other members of the republican party as well. I think Putin would have to be in a really particular mood or…
Of course Boomers realize it. We invented it. We invented everything. We’re the greatest generation. Ever.
I would definitely watch “Rise of the Planet of the Carp.”
“Poor people having to move to new neighborhoods or living in shittier housing isn’t genocide.”
“This may surprise you, but we actually learned a few things from the mistakes of the 70s ansd 80s.”
No, they’re just gaslighting.
“should the rest of the world hold you responsible for all the mischief of your future, past and present governments?”
Maybe from people who didn’t vote but who could have. (I exclude those whose votes were suppressed, tossed, or gerrymandered.) I doubt the third party voters have any sense of remorse because they “voted their conscience,” which is exactly what Ted Cruz and the republican playbook told them to do. And it worked…
I fully support PP. That being said, I worry about the donation approach. As with any organization that needs govt. support, the more that the people who dole out the money see donations pour in, the more they’re going to say, “well, hey, looks like you can just depend on that instead of govt. support.” I wish I…
“Do the GOP accolades kneel before Drumpf when they meet him or just shake with excitement until they pee themselves?”
No, we’re not going to die. Serf’s up!
No, they’re just gaslighting. It’s their job. They’re very good at it, btw.
