My wife has a 2014 Grand Cherokee that I drive a lot. What you demonstrated is actually a pretty common occurrence. But the difference I would point out is that even when you are paying attention, sometimes the shifter seems to physically stop itself before going past that third detent and into park. I don’t know what…
The chime for leaving the door open while not parked is remarkably not annoying. Which is a bad thing in this situation.
I’ve got the BMW iteration of the ZF shifter in my car. They include a park button. So instead of shifting up in to park, you just touch the button from any gear (even the sequential). Also, if you turn off the car in drive, it’ll automatically go in to park. Apparently if you open the door in drive, it’ll park the…
I’ve driven a Grand Cherokee with this shifter. It didn’t seem THAT bad, but then again, yeah, it’s not all that hard to get it wrong if you’re not paying attention (and how many of us can say we pay close attention every single time we put the vehicle in to and out of gear). Even the dial-a-gear rotary knob Chrysler…

What funny is that those NASCAR stops look like something out of a comedy skit once you’ve gotten used to how quickly F1 cars are off the jacks and moving again.
Count to two. Then say a 13-second NASCAR stop is crazier. lol.
Have you ever drank a Ref Bull? If you had to drink that stuff all the time you'd be in a bad mood, too.
Seb’s new demeanor he’s picked up with Ferrari is a godsend. It’s like having Kimi on his A-game all over again, honestly.
Yeah, just watching that makes me hate that design. I’d actively avoid buying a car like that.
What a disaster:
This is what’s wrong with these new shifters. Without distinct gear positions or indents, you have to consciously control the movement and look at the display to determine what gear you are in. Very easy to see how someone in a rush could mistakenly not put it in the correct gear.
With this vehicle, you put it in P, and then the shifter resets to a central position. This is an issue as it doesn’t provide the driver visual confirmation that the vehicle is in Park, and not Neutral or Drive. This is a clear design flaw, and it’s now killed a person.
I made fun of this recall when I first heard of it...said it was a recall for dumb people. I have a 2015 SRT. I jumped in the car the other day with my gf, forgot something in the house, tossed it in “park” jumped out and ran back in the house, came back and jumped in the front seat and felt the car move a little.…
All of this. Plus, why not a fail safe? The Tesla will put itself into park when you get out, if you forget to do so. There is a fairly lengthy process you have to follow to put it into “tow mode” if you really mean to have it in neutral with no one in the driver’s seat.
This is a mild pain in the ass for car washes.…
I don’t use the word hate lightly. I also try to remember that most people aren’t good or bad, everyone has some humanity, etc, etc.
I mean, Sandy Hook didn’t get the NRA to change its tune, and its membership likes kindergarteners way more than gay club-goers at Latin Night.
In a move that some sources categorized as “unhinged fearmongering,” the National Rifle Association’s executive vice…
And here we go, now the narrative becomes Hamilton had the right to pass dangerously as Rosberg would have slowed him too much and it’s just a racing incident. No foul just tough racing by Hamilton.
