I played Final Fantasy III on the DS in like 2006.

JRPGs were really never good. It's only now that console gamers have legitimate alternatives with large marketing budgets that they're dying. They always lacked depth and had push-A combat systems, in addition to not having any role playing and plots built constantly on the same cliches.

Maybe there should be video game news on a video game site.

The problem was this was cross posted by Kotaku in an attempt to get Nick Denton a thousand dollars.

I think that they had a harder time cuz they didn't really get directly affected by bin Laden's actions. At least, not in the way we were.

It's also annoying when they assume other countries are really that much less fat and that much less stupid.

The textures on the ground being flat and all and the very static backgrounds remind me of Final Fantasy III on DS.

That's probably your problem. Your frame buffer is crapping out, I think. If so, you have a couple options: dial down texture quality (if you can), buy a new card and sell your current one to finance it, or buy another 460 and SLI them, again, if you can.

Gaming never entered the uncanny valley. It is a primarily physical phenomenon, and indicated by a strong sense of repulsion to something not-quite human. Video games were never not quite human. If anything, we'd be entering the uncanny valley soon (but probably not, due to reasons previously indicated).
