I knew I could not be alone in feeling that masks can be liberating. I love not feeling like I need to wear makeup, that i am protecting against sun damage, that i don’t have to fake smile at people, that the playing field has been made slightly more level because i know for a fact that pretty people get treated

Ugh, I really really hope masks stick around in hospitals and doctor’s offices. How the hell did we ever sit in a packed waiting room with a fever or some other horrible ailment while also surrounded by sick people?

“Simply put,” one woman said, “I’m sick of being perceived.”
That last part is too real.

At this point, it’s just another fake culture war battle. Like abortion, like trans rights, like critical race theory, like Mr. Potatohead. Everything is a conspiracy by the libs to destroy “OUR” country. The right manipulates their lumpen followerswith fear and hate so they never really think about how badly they’re

At some point, the money is just a way to keep score. It becomes about power and influence and prestige. A monstrous, increasingly twisted ego trip. Bezos and his ilk can literally do anything they like with impunity.

Be fair. After all the billions he’s spent to aid the Amazon workforce during the pandemic let the guy splurge a little on something for himself.

Two things are fucked up:

Well now, as a senior I have been turning this over in my mind too. I am newly deaf and don’t drive but now I must continue to keep a license current? I am reliant on immunosuppressant drugs but now will be forced to vote at crowded polls? It only remains to be seen whether or not my local polling location is closed.

Typically Republicans do better with mail in voting. Republicans are fucking stupid.

The time when I knew it was over and waiting for it to pass was the worst of my life. Knowing the pills were an option was my only consolation. It infuriates me that men who neither know nor care about how women’s bodies work think they are entitled to take this option away from women and their doctors.

PSA / REALLY IMPORTANT: Mifepristone and misoprostol (the 2 drugs prescribed for medical abortion) are also prescribed to assist women who have miscarried safely pass fetal tissue. Simply calling them “abortion pills” is a misnomer- thousands of women rely on these meds to complete their naturally occurring miscarriage

FFS, Joe. All you had to do was this:

I see your point (I think/hope), but I feel like we have given ground to the anti-choice movement. I’ll make my case, and feel free to call me an idiot.

I’ll bite. The “rare” part of the phrase, to me, implies that if the government doesn’t regulate abortions pregnant people will be getting them all the time at any point of the pregnancy. That’s incredibly patronizing. Most people know immediately if they want to keep a pregnancy, and most obtain an abortion within

So, my choices are: 1) wear a mask when I with others and try to reduce the number of large gatherings I attend for a few more weeks while the vaccine rollout completes or 2) pretend like we are still in 2018, go out for drinks, go to ballgames, etc. threatening the health and life of myself, my family, and every one

At this rate I declare that these dumb pointless celebrations are cursed and should no longer be a thing.

Men. Not giving a shit about their kids since 1776.

There’s a lot missing from this piece, honestly, and it’s worse than you’d think.

And the solution to not doing both is pointing fingers at rich guys and asking them why they aren’t helping ?

Fucking make them help, nothing short of that will change anything.
Make them pay the crapton of taxes they should be paying, but don’t knock them for trying to pick up the slack of public entities when it comes
